It's your own choice, but I think this kind of attitude exactly demonstrates the reason why the education level of US has been steadily going down.

Nah, NK is too much of a threat to SK for them not to recognise it. Sure, we all know NK would lose a war with SK, but not before causing a lot of damage, particularly to Seoul. They probably see it as a mosquito, something that's normally just a nuisance but can be very dangerous on occasion, rather than as completely powerless.
