The GM finished putting out the fire and logged in to CFC to see what the players were up to…

‘Hahahaha! Now we're going to lynch Csargo and put an end to this!’
‘Erm, excuse me…’ Csargo began timidly.
‘What?’ MaryKB turned to face her victim haughtily. Inexplicably, she had put on a vermine coat and had procured a scepter from somewhere.
‘Really, I object to…’
‘To your lynching? Understandable, but immaterial.’ The self-proclaimed Queen of OT turned to admire herself in the mirror. Which, only the GM seemed to notice, had not been there when he was typing the last line.
‘No, actually, it's–’
‘Be done with it, whelp!’
‘I don't mind being lynched, I mean, it's just a game. But the name's pronounced Tsar-go, like a Russian tsar, see? Not Xar-go.’
‘Really?’ the Queen was non-plussed for a second, but she recovered.‘Be that as it may, but… off with his head, Game-master!’
Takhisis shrugged. The town had it coming. Csargo died a peaceful death, happy in the knowledge that people would know how to mentally pronounce his name when typing it in future games.
‘Good. And now, to spare ourselves the tedium of waiting another night, we shall have another one of these ‘townies’ executed. See to it, vassals.’
NinjaCow64 and RRRaskolnikov sprang to obey.
‘Which one shall it be, O fair lady?’
‘Whichever. But not my dear Snerkie, whom I intend to return to my dungeon and tickle him every night for as long as I please. How dare he not have joined my team.’
In the end, since they couldn't agree on it, JohannaK, Montmorency and Synsensa were all summarily executed. Snerk's fate was worse…

(and the GM wondered what the Queen would do if she found out Snerk was on Tinder, but that's another story…)

Our newbies:

• MaryKB really did forbid any killing of Snerk whatsoever in the mafia communications channel. I don't know how seriously they took her.
  Arakhor, as a 99% neutral independent observer, did say something about how he suspected she had drawn mafia in her first game ever and was hamming it up as far as she dared.
  Also, she reminded me of Enchantress and Wind Ranger from DotA2. All cutesy up until the point where they say things like ‘Hey, I'm a predator!’ or ‘If at first you don't succeed: get closer - shoot again.’ She's not red-haired, but one can't have it all.
• Congrats to Timsup2nothin and Synsensa for making the effort as uninformed floundering vanilla townies: alas, sometimes it goes like this.

I'm glad that for once I haven't had to replace any players.
Or restart the game.

Also, Monty and night-posting… I deferred to the wisdom of CFC's moderating team. In the end, letting Monty's words stand might have helped doom the town. Seriously, don't post when the thread is closed.

One last thing: who's going to host the next game? Preferably not me.

Reading back I think it would have been difficult to unravel the team even if we lynched Mary today (who along with Synsensa I hope continues to play) , as the team largely avoided interacting or mentioning each other.

Snerk was the only one to ever suss Rask and Ninja I believe, so he's the best of the Town.

I wanted him dead for this, and I was begging our mighty queen every single day last week

As I said earlier, Snerk needs to go sooner rather than later, NC and I are already high on his scum radar (see his last post)... but it won't be simple. He is smart and by pointing us out loud like he does, we would be immediately lynched on D3 if we murder him next night... It will be easier imo to have him lynched, I just need to figure out how... I am waiting an opportunate weird post, but we might very well be waiting a long time... damn the dude is good

Because loudy townies were lynching each others quite efficiently, and it's easier to hide among them imo.

NC64 settled the killing strategy early on:

Personally I think we should kill people who are unlikely to be mislynched. Loud people...well, give them enough rope and they'll lynch themselves. Quiet people get lynched because nobody likes a lurker, so that rules out LordArgon. We want to get somewhere in the middle - people who are quiet enough that we can't build a case for lynching against them but not too quiet that they'll get WoGed or lynched by the town out of principle.

Good job to the mafiosi, it was a very pleasant experience to play with both of you!

Well, that was a whitewash. Now I didn't suspect the other two, but Mary was pretty clearly Mafia. Why did hardly any one else see that?

I gave her a couple days grace, but I did suspect her at some point. There just didnt seem to be a team to peg her to. By day 4 I thought she was in a team with Csargo and not sure who else, and Csargo already had some traction, so the order hardly mattered, right? But it did...

Funnily enough I was right from the get-go! Shoulda lynched her D1 like I told y'all!
