It seems to me that the combat relies more heavily upon sheer numbers of units than any kind of tactical knowhow. Flame me if you wish, but, at least against the computer, sheer numbers is what wins. Anyone feel the same way?

Just curious if anyone from Firaxis or any of the mods are willing to address the changing system requirements. My comp. has 512MB RAM and I was led to believe this was above the minimum requirement, but now I'm told it is the minimum, and if I experience gameplay issues it is because of that...

I've noticed that sea units can enter my borders even when I don't have open borders. Is this supposed to happen?

Here's how I did it: 1. uninstall old drivers 2. uninstall civ4 completely 3. restart comp 4. install catalyst 5.10 drivers 5. restart 6. install civ4 That got it working for me. Try it out in that order.

ATI users probably should NOT download the newest catalyst 5.10 drivers. I had the 6.14 drivers installed, and the game played, although it slowed down toward the endgame. In hopes of fixing this, I downloaded the new drivers, and guess what? I get the renderer error that everyone else is...

It seems most of the people, myself included, who have the 6.14 drivers installed can get the game to work, most of the time. I looked on ATI's website and could not find those drivers for download. I'd recommend that anyone who can find them post the link and let everyone try those out.

Just curious if there is an option to turn autosave off. The late game slows way down for me and i thought it might be due to the autosave.

Not so much a bug, but it's still a problem. I managed to play a huge map custom game up to the year 1700, and as soon as i traded world maps with another civ the game slowed waaaay down. And now when I exit the program and load the game it plays very slowly. I've tried turning the graphics...

I just talked to someone from gamestop. The guy I preordered it from said it would be in on Tuesday, so I figured I'd get it Monday night, since that has been the case before. Well, this new guy said that Tuesday is the SHIP DATE, which means I won't get it until Wednesday...I have to wait two...

I read on gamestop.com that the strategy guide should be released on Monday. Does anyone actually buy strat guides anymore? I used to, but I was considering buying one for this game. What do you guys think?
