Nero04: Skipping some levels? It's training day

The goal of this SG is to up the level of players who have problems getting beyond regent level (or lower). Even if you have problems at chieftain don't be afraid to sign up.
Depending on the current skill we'll go for monarch or emperor. All setting at average. Civ's open to debate. Will keep the standard 24h got it 72h to play time scedule.
There'll be room for 5 players as I won't play in the game myself. I will play each turnset outside of the game to compare progress.

lurker's comment: I'd suggest making this Emperor. You learn a lot more at Emp, particularly dealing with happiness.

I only have PTW.

My machine is too slow to run Conquests.

Are there any other low level players out there who want to move up to Emperor level? Come and join nerovats' game and get yourself up to a higher level! We need a few more folks so come and join!

Going to Emperor? Great!

Most of my games have been at Chieftain. I am plodding through my second Monarch game.

Please consider this a sign-up.

@nerovats: (minor input) Please do not choose an Industrious Civ. It will get us spoiled on those fast workers. Other than that any civ will do. I do not want it easy; I want to learn.

I agree with CommandoBob about the Industrious civ, I spend way too much time playing as Carthage! Other than that I'll play any civ.

I think we have a full roster now nero, care to set up the game?

Woobi, Truckster and Azzaman333 haven´t checked in yet, we´ll see if they join.

Will roll a start tonight (CET) and make up roster. Emperor PTW it is. No industrious civ as requested. Will make it continents to get nice variety in landmasses.

sorry i've taken so long to call in. couldnt access civfanatics at all yesterday and i only just got home for school a few minutes ago. emp PTW sounds good, i just want to know if everyone here has the latest patch (1.27f IIRC)

what civ shall we get? i propose Spain. It can be a greater challenge than if we choose someone like greece or rome.

I'm game for any civ that you want to play. I usually play with Expansionist civs, but I've tried every civ at least once. I think it would be nice to know how to win either a Space Race or Culture 200K.

I am not sure about setting VCs before we get started. This is a big jump up for all of us and we may bite off more than we can chew. I would suggest leaving all the standard VCs on (Conquest, Diplomatic, etc). Once we get into the game we could decide on how to win.

I would like a Space Victory, like Hawk Chieftain . It fits into my default builder mindset. Make the best and the shiniest and do it before anybody else. But with our current skills, and tackling a new, tough project, it may not be feasible to accomplish.

So, I suggest we leave our options open, get in and get our feet wet, and then decide how we will win.

But, I like the idea of 'The Starry Spanish Main'.

Agree with Commando about the VC's, leave em all on then see how things pan out for us poor Regent players!

Space victory is certainly my favourite too though!

I always leave all VC's open but can aim for space, if that appears to be difficult we can change our minds.
