And then there were three...

GPS Darren.

Haggis, what barb axe? You should send your spear and both axes on a pillaging mission with me to Sal's land. You can build a work boat next so that your capital will grow. At the current rate, it will take 21 long turns to grow...

I'm going to place my Iron city 1 tile east of the original location. That way, we won't be culturally fighting over the cow. I'll let you have it, otherwise Osaka will never grow.

Darren, where's the spear we need? I suggest that you change your build in your capital to a spear followed by an archer (to get rid of the "We fear for our safety." unhappiness) and then the Jaguar.

Stop building the worker in the captured jungle city. That is way too long to wait for a worker while the city sits stagnant without growth. You could build that same worker in your capital in 5 or 6 turns. Build either a granary (for quick growth) or a barracks (for military) there. I'll be sending in a missionary soon so that you get some culture going.

GPS Darren.

Haggis, be sure to move both axes up to cover my worker. We'll go into Sal's capital the following turn.

My second city is not going to be nearly as good in it's new location since I'm losing the spices and the cow (at least you get this). But, it will get me iron and I will be able to pump out troops after mining all of the hills.

Darren, I was thinking that your jaguars should be headed toward Biz. We haven't touched him yet and he's getting stronger by the minute. You may want to divert one of your jaguars back to Biz and only send one out to help Haggis and I with Sal.

Have one of your archers cover your roading worker so that he doesn't get surprised attacked out of the fog.

Move your citizen in Medina to either the forested grassland tile (2 :food: and 1 :hammers:) or the river grassland tile (2 :food: and 1 :gold:). Having a citizen specialist is not a good idea if you can help it.

Workers: Haggis and I are 1 turn away from completing our offensive road to Sal. I will send my worker to your newly captured city to start some much needed improvements.

GPS Darren,

Haggis, be sure to use the road (do not travel through Sal's horse tile) to cover my horse archer with your ax: he's a sitting duck for the spear in Sal's capital.

Darren, move your citizen in Medina to either the forested grassland tile (2:food: and 1:hammers:) or the river grassland tile (2:food: and 1:gold: ). Having a citizen specialist is not a good idea if you can help it.

Darren, both of your workers (especially the one in the city you built) are open to suprise attack by a Biz mounted unit. I wouldn't have any units on the south cultural border once you finish chopping that tree.

Sal's Capital DON'T PILLAGE ANYTHING!! This will be Haggis' city in a few turns, so we don't want to ruin anything.

The cutltural defense of his capital is currently 20%. It will go up to 40% in 4 turns (as will both of yours). We need to take out his capital in the next three turns. If we use all of our forces in the area, in 3 turns we can attack with:

2 Horse Archers (Mitchum)
2 Jaguars (Darren)
2 Axes (Haggis)

The optimum order of attack would be:

Axe (Sword would defend)
Jaguar (Spear would defend)
Horse Archer (Archer would defend)

We would likely lose all of these battles (the last one would be ~50/50, but our next three units would have easy wins. The problem is that we can't attack in this order. If we want to kill Sal without giving him an opportunity to promote and heal his troops, our attack order will have to be:

Horse Archer (Spear would defend)
Horse Archer (Spear may still defend, unless I wound him enough, then Sword)
Jaguar (Sword would defend - unless I'm able to wound the spear and then wound the Sword)
Jaguar
Axe
Axe

This is not a sure thing like the optimum attach order would have been. In the future, I don't think it's a good idea to go into battle with multi-national armies. I think that we should gift each other units so that we can attack with the correct units at the correct time.

GPS Darren.

Agreed. I wasn't sure if you guys read the thread before taking your turns.

Haggis, the copper mine in your capital is a better tile to work than the hill mine.

Haggis, I just checked out your MySpace page. I was looking for links to some of the projects you're working on, but couldn't find any. Do you have anything released yet?

i havn't gotten it, so it must still be with darren

RE my company: we are a small and relatively new indie company. we have had some things in local film fests and whatnot. nothing you would have been able to see, unless you spend a lot of time at indie filmfests in Toronto :p

currently we are in pre-production for a comedy short for entry into North American filmfests, and the chances are that will be put on youtube, metacafe etc just for more mainstream exposure.

our official site is not up yet, which is why there aren't many updates on that myspace page. also, we are no longer WMB productions. we are Subcritical Films (but can't change the URL on myspace) if you are on facebook you can search groups for Subcritical Films. there is and will be more consistant updates there.

thanks for showing interest :)

I missed the last 40 or so film festivals in Toronto. We're you at the one in 1966?

I'm not a member of Facebook either. Let me know when you're on youtube. I'd like to check it out.

Darren has been absent from my other games as well. He must be on holiday or something because he is usually pretty quick with his turns...

Edit: Speak of the devil, I just saw his name as someone logged on here...

Welcome back, Darren. I was worried that something happened to you. In another game I'm in, a guy was missing for several weeks and it turned out that he was in a serious car accident.

What is your background? My company has an office in England. Send me an e-mail if you want.

I can vouch for your Civ skills if that would help... : )

GPS Darren.

We didn't have the needed force to take out Sal's city yet. I moved my horse archer moved to his iron. Hopefulle Sal moves his spear out to kill me. We'll take the city next turn. Unfortunately, the city will be at 40% culture next turn.

Darren, after this worker, start building units. We need to hit Biz. We should pick up all the rest of the workers we need through conquest.
