What is the required "specs" or graphics needed to play it? I have Messed up text on the menu's also. I have an Acer Aspire 5920

The name of your laptop is not specific enough. According to google it has either a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (which is exactly the graphics card which is causing the trouble in this thread), or a GeForce 8600M (which is not much better and also below the minimum specs).
We could say a bit more if we had your DxDiag file (my what?).
