The Barbarian War
During the invasion of Gaul, the Germanians Bedouins and Huns all singed an anti Roman alliance with Gaul. Although Rome was considered the world power, they didn’t have the army to face 4 civilizations at once. They did so an while the Roman army was tied up in Gaul launched an attack on Athenea, Sparte and Arretium. Meanwhile the Gauls launched a counter attack outside of Mediolunom, a city that had just fallen to the Romans.

The Battle of Dinum Pass
When the Germans declared war on Rome, the Roman forces stationed in Arretium needed to receive orders. Originally, Governor Duke waited until orders game from Roma (the capital city of Rome) but no such orders came. Consul Omega was leading the attack on Gaul, Consul WIM was on his 2 week paid vacation and the Preator was nowhere to be seen. Eventually, Duke managed to get in contact with the Preator, in which the Preator decided:
“Given the circumstance, we have no spare troops. Arretium is to be fortified with whatever troops are in the city.” Without Reinforcements, the city seemed at a loss, 140 000 Germans, the largest army ever to unite under one banner, was marching towards Rome’s 3rd largest city, defended by just 8 500 soldiers. Duke decided he would travel to Rome and try to call for support and told one of his generals to stall the Germans in Dinum Pass, a pass through the Alps and where the German camp currently was. The army was 4000 of the men who were instructed to defend the city. Lead by General Terencus the Brave (Terence888) they were to guard the pass. Outnumbered by 35 to 1, the soldiers managed to defend the path for 2 weeks and killed 28 000 Germans in the process. The only survivor of the battle was Terencus, who was taken as a hostage.
This stall gave Duke enough time to reinforce the city, and they now had 20 000 defending the city, and with news of Goth Chariots arriving, they now had a chance.
Battle of Florenzium
The Goth chariots engaged the Axeman at Florenzium, a small hamlet near Arretium. Using hit and run tactics they were able to kill 20 000 Germans and prolong their advance into Arretium. The Goths lost just 2700 people.
Battle of Arretium
In what was consider Rome’s bloodiest battle, 20 000 Romans and 92 000 Germans fought in what was the largest battle of the ancient world. The Romans were defending a city and used the high walls to their advantage. Archers rained arrows on the German lines, while the Germans tried to break through the main gates of the city. Eventually they broke through, allowing at least 70 000 Germans into the city. The 2 legions stationed in the city fought well, and used the tight walls streets to trap the Germans. As the day wore on, more and more Germans fell to the superior trained legions, from the beginning it was clear who would win this battle. Despite this the German’s didn’t surrender they fought to the last man. After the legions killed every German who had entered the city, the Goths rushed the enemy camp. Killing the rest of the Germans and freeing Terencus, who had been brutally tortured. Despite that, he refused to give the Germans any information on the city layout, preventing the Germans from coming up with any good tactics to engage the Roman legions. In the end 102 000 people died in the battle. This was be a shocking blow to the German economy, as most of their able bodied men took part in the battle.
Battle of Sparte
300 Spartan men and 200 Spartan women engaged the Huns outside of Sparte. Facing 50 000 Huns, they were hopelessly outnumbered. Despite this they manage to face off against the Huns and repel attack after attack, eventually the numbers diminished. With approx 400 casualties their numbers were diminished, with most of the city under Hun control, the day seemed lost. However the gods answered the Spartan Prayers, as Persia’s 2nd scouting division was in the area. They came to Sparte’s aid and successfully repelled the Huns invasion. The city had successfully been defended. This increased the relations between Persia and Rome, as the Persians had just defended a Roman city from the Huns.
There were rumours that the Indians were funding the Hun attack, but Asoka denies this.
The Gallic counter attack
The Gallic counter attack was predicted to be at Mediolunom, however the Germans asked for help attacking Arretium, so instead the Gaul’s entered Italia. However, they entered the area too late and the Germans had already been slaughtered. They were now encircled, with the force defending Arretium on one side, and the Roman force occupying Gaul on the other. The Gaul’s set up camp in Gals pass, and waited for the Roman offensive…
