And the way I see it, nature wouldn't do anything significant if we all take turns. Surely we'd all just try keeping it away from our own forces as a priority. Or are we just meant to stay as impartial as possible when we take nature?

Right...move them away from your units and move them towards your enemies...and vice versa. Not how Eric envisioned it but it is the most equitable compromise given the circumstances...

Also, should we place an eastern restriction on blizzards? The blizzards that showed up in Hungary were a bit unrealistic last game.

To our newer players...please take time to read the developers notes and the main thread. It does take some time but one can learn a great deal about the various units and their capabilities! It will make the game more enjoyable. Believe me! I've learned many lessons the hard way starting way back with Eric's Typhoon of Steel!!!

Have you tried using them in a single-player? That's often a good
way to try various strategies.

And by chance did you read the Hinge of Fate Scenario, Version 3 Notes that are a text file that is part of the scenario download? Now..true...it is a basic description but it does provide useful basic info about all units including those of Nature. Hope this helps?

Blizzards treat all land squares as roads, so they are highly mobile
and can strike deep behind enemy lines. Use them to attack anything
weak such as workers, undefended radars or airfields.
They also make good roadblocks.

Apart from Blizzards units, none really. Sandstorms are the nearest thing
but you won't see any in Russia or Europe.
