Grand Vizier Yusef Kaya has also recently started a program of mass-secularisation in the Empire, for example supporting the printing of copies of books promoting Atheism such as The God Delusion in protest to this law. He has also stated that any refugee fleeing from Caliphate persecution will be welcome to settle in Turkey. Foreign Minister/Vizier Demir has called the recent actions of the Caliphate "regrettable", as it only served to worsen relations between the Ottomans and the Caliphate. In the meantime, mass demonstrations have occured across the empire, some condemning the actions of the Caliphate and some condeming the actions of the Grand Vizier.

Update: Field Marshal Yılmaz has ordered the training of 3 Jannissary Corps. These corps will form the elite of the Ottoman Army, not only fulfilling the role of Imperial/Palace Guard, but are also trained to work in the most hostile conditions in the Middle East and to work with the most technologically advanced weapons the Empire has to offer. The training of these Jannissaries are believed to be in response to not only to the "Soldiers of Allah", but also to assert the Ottoman claims in the Balkans and Middle East. Although recruits are slow due to the recent civil war, the there have been enough to form several companies of the 1st Jannissary Corps. The location of where the soldiers will be stationed in is currently undisclosed.

Decades later, Admiral Castro and many politicians admit that Haiti is a valuable asset to the team as you will. The Emperors, despite their many faults and own corruption, managed to turn Haiti into a major producer of food. Port-au-Prince lives up to its name; it is the larger shipyard in the Empire.

The Dominican Republic is a different case. It has survived the devastating wars and emerged as the largest economy in Central America/the Caribbean. However, Cuba was able to use growing corruption and in a coup, installed a pro-Cuban government. After many years, the country was annexed without violence by Cuba. It became a major industrial area of the Empire.
