Funny how the two civs I picked have inverted colors.
I like Portugal. Played well, it's probably the hardest civ to get rid off using Embargos and Banned Luxuries in the World Congress. The counterfeit luxuries from Feitoria is just too good, plus it means I could sell the other lux that I have for bribes or just general trading. It's not as good a money machine as Venice, but it's really good to have a big wallet in the game. My only gripe is that I always end up being the first host in the World Congress with them (I'm still trying to get the Dark Horse achievement).
America, well I don't really find them spectacular. I suppose the extra visibility is nice and I do enjoy Kilimanjaro-trained Minutemen if I'm lucky to find the wonder, but it's one of the more bland civs I've played.
