Problem With Submarines

i don't know if this is a problem directly related to the latest patch, but i've recently noticed that Submarines can inadvertantly start wars. what happens is that in Peace-Time, an opposing Civ will be moving non-sub detecting ships (cruisers, battleships, carriers, transports, etc.) and they'll run into one of my subs, and instead of going around, they'll declare War and ATTACK! it's not like i'm blocking a water bottleneck and there's no way around or that i'm in their nation's territorial waters, i'll be in neutral waters and they'll still declare war instead of going around me.

unless i'm mistaken, this is a problem with the AI and pathfinding. 'cuz the AI doesn't detect one of my ships in that square, it tries to move through it and for some reason doesn't care about instigating a war in order to do it.

i hope this will be corrected in the next patch, because it's very annoying.
 
i noticed this just a few minutes ago when i loaded a saved game. i suspected that the Civ wuz attacking me 'cuz we had warred recently but had settled peace. but when i Reloaded, moved an AEGIS Cruisers over my Nuke Sub and hit End of Turn, the AI Civ went around my ships without incident. so the only way to avoid this problem at the moment is to escort a sub with a surface ship, which the AI plainly sees and circumnavigates.

personally, i don't like this solution 'cuz the advantage of submarines is stealth, particularly with Tactical Nuke-carrying Nuclear Subs. if i escort them, the AI will plainly see that i have warships looming off their borders, which inhibits the Nuke Sub's element of surprise.

so i hope the pathfinding problem is fixed so that AI Civs will simply go around a undetected submerged sub rather than fight for the contested water square it's trying to move through.
 
Yes this is definetily a bug.
Twice in my current game the Hittites declare war at me by runing into my subs while we had MPP and beeing at war both against Spain.
The first time i did nothing,but continued on playing the game as it was.The second thow it was to much,so i loaded the previus turn and moved the sub wich had ''caused'' the war in a stuck with other ships.So nothing hapend,i mean if they were to declare war they would have done it anyway.
What is strange thow is that both times destroyers(can see subs) had bumped into my subs.
So or AI realy sucks or this is a bug that sould take in consideration.
 
This is a well known and quite ancient bug, especially since it was already fixed in a patch for PTW and came back now for Conquest (what is Firaxis thinking about?????, I mean please.... this can't be real for a game made by professionals----)
 
I've got this bug aswell, and I too thought i had gone with the coming of earlier patches, wonder why it's back in conquests?
 
This wasnt fixed in 1.20 was it? And if it wasnt, I wonder when they will get around to doing it? This is an extremely annoying bug, especially if you like to use a lot of subs for lookouts/scouts.
