Router ports and connection ills

Am really getting tired of "Contacting Host - Timed out" errors. seems many others are as well. Have located a list of ports to open
* 6667 (IRC)
* 2033 (Civ4)
* 2056 (Civ4)
* 47624 (Directplay)
* 3783 (Voice Chat Port)
* 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
* 28900 (Master Server List Request)
* 29900 (GP Connection Manager)
* 29901 (GP Search Manager)
* 13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
* 6500 (Query Port)
* 6515 (Dplay UDP)
* 2300-2400 (DirectPlay - UDP)
On this excellent forum and have had Belkin technical support talk me through it.
Trouble is I am still UNABLE to get into multiplayer games. If I disconnect the router and go thryu modem only no problems (but that is less than ideal because of the other comps in the house!)

Have also read about `Hamachi` networks?

Please can anyone offer any advice. This is solely a civ 4 issue. :-(

This remains a very crucial flaw of the latest PATCH. Please can Firaxis sort this out! There were no problems until this latest patch. Now I am totally excluded from any form of online play, and I enjoyed doing co-op with my mates.

I have three different comps/ setups / and have tried uninstalling and re-installing but I just CANNOT get online anymore. Come on Firaxis sort this mess out!
