Quackers
The Frog
From the Guardian, "the world's leading Liberal voice", apparently.
A few days ago in the murky celebrity world there was an incident. Jay-Z's sister in law attacked him in a lift. There is footage here.
However, in my first link a Guardian columnist and self-proclaimed feminist has sought to downplay this. Her motivations are quite clear. Nothing can detract from the view that men are always the perpetrators of violence and woman are always the victims.
So surely all violence must be equally treated with contempt correct? I believe violence is equally wrong whether your victim is bigger and stronger than you. You do not get extra moral credit by making yourself the underdog in a fight. Our brave feminist author, disagrees:
Personally, a furious woman attacking me would be a frightening experience. Especially when a woman knows what a kick to the balls can do to you. However, our author knows best. A man just wouldn't be afraid if a woman attacked him! At least if a man attacks you, you have plenty of scope to fight back. If you're assaulted by a woman and fight back prepare to be backstabbed by intervening white knights like Oda Nobunaga and Senethro defending a damsel in distress. She goes on to say:
This passage is just completely bizarre. She even gleefully throws in a cutesy "guilty!" in brackets when she admits to slapping people when drunk. What a weirdo.
Anyway, her final paragraph reads like this:
So there you have it. Female on Male violence just isn't as meaningful as the other way around. This "feminist" does not want equality. She wants special, superior treatment for being a woman.

I urge you to read, fully, this car crash of an article. You will get a better feel for her "arguments".
Peace out #Quacks.

However, even unprotected, would Jay-Z have felt under genuine physical threat from his sister-in-law? Not that women should feel entitled to attack men, but this is a distinction that needs to be made. The differences in physical size and/or strength between the sexes mean that most men are simply not physically scared of most women.

What's more, women tend to be aware of this, if only subliminally. Some females might have periods in their life when they get "slap-happy", primarily when socialising, maybe when attention seeking, usually when drunk (guilty!).

Anyway, her final paragraph reads like this:
This is why Solange's attack wasn't disturbing or meaningful in the same way that it would have been if she'd been attacked by a male. Ideally, no one should be attacking someone else. However, the fact that women have always had far more reason to be physically afraid of male violence, rather than vice versa, is hardly news. While female violence gets a disproportionate amount of attention, it's male violence that remains dominant.
So there you have it. Female on Male violence just isn't as meaningful as the other way around. This "feminist" does not want equality. She wants special, superior treatment for being a woman.
