Rhye, here is a table of tech advancement of a test game with England on mid-level (monarch).
Version 1.09

I had a nice UHW win with England
(getting all those colonies was the most excitin part).

My finding is that AI is slow on tech advancing,
while me as player could get way ahead too fast (as England).

I find this same issue occuring but it usually clears itself up as the populations of those countries increases even more. However, I usually end up playing referee, and alot techs as the historical time calls for. This however, makes the game more my puppeteering of independant states than an actual challenge.

Rhye, my guess is that tests should be run by playing
each and every nation as by the human player... is it so?

My other test with Spain went so that I could hardly get
to the first SShip techs by 2050

Maybe we should wait before changing anything. Slow tech advancing could be caused by AI worker bug and the few workers in the current version.

Both Mali and England have incredible commerce. The AI doesn't know how to play England properly though as it doesn't know how to take advantage of all the food or to run an SE. The human is supposed to use Mali's commerce to build up a gold hoard. The AI uses to it to tech.
