The Heir of Rome- Divine Intervention

Radio looked at Jwitti, he had not found the promised land yet.

"You haven't discovered my promised land yet, but that's pretty understandable, tell you what, there's this one island near you now, take it and settle a city on it in my name, try not to let my warrior die, happen to really like him, and his name mandates that he will become great one day"

"That's seriously it"

Then Radio vanished

Spoiler Quest :
Get a city on that island gosh diggity dangit! Also, if my warrior on the boat dies, the reward will be much smaller, as you will likely never be able to capture the island without him (trust me, you want this reward). It also has to be done this turnset.

Spoiler NFJE :
Added a desert island just off Jwitti's coast with Skirmishers on a hill that has a fort and trees, should be fun.

In that case Radio I'm extending the turnset from the planned ten to twenty. :)

OK I'm going to take the save now. 20 turn turnset is now going to be standard, unless I see an opportunity that begs for a shorter one.
EDIT: ooc: OK, who the heck gave the barbs a JET FIGHTER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They're going to use it to break through the stack of guys on the mountain pass. anyway, the game had a CTD probably because someone buffed the barbs too much and so now they're huge. and so I now am going to ask whoever put that barb jet fighter there to take it out and please get rid of some barbs. Danke shon!

Fine re editing the save

Sorry my computer's acting up. I'll do it tomorrow

Ill try it again on another computer. But please get rid of the Jet Fighter it's going to break through the pass stack and I'm actually kinda scared :hide:

"Greetings, Jwitti."

"Who are you?" Jwitti asked, hearing the voice.

"Ah, good. You hear me. I am Dumanios, the God of Winter." the voice replied. A man appeared, dressed in a white robe, and he was bearded.

"And why do you come to me now?" questioned Jwitti.

"The Barbarian Empire to the west has troubled you for a long time, have they not?"

"Why, yes, they have." Jwitti replied. Dumanios then clapped his hands once.

"The southern lands are colder, but the barbarians no longer have fertile land. They also lack their warriors of the sky, and many land warriors as well."

"What else, lord Dumanios?"

"I have assigned to you Lord Wintergaard. I give you permission to use him, but he can only be used for the defense of you land, and to attack the barbarians. Try to keep him alive," and with that, Dumanios disappeared.

For Mortal Eyes.
Spoiler :
You have obtained Lord Wintergaard. His firepower is unmatched by the barbarians. Use him to fight the barbarians or defend your land.

NFME
Spoiler :
I removed the Jet Fighter and a few other barbarian units, added tundra all around the barbarians, added some tundra in the southern part of his empire. I also had fun renaming barb cities.

Thanks.. I really didn't mean to be harsh about that fighter, but I was shocked.

Taking save
Writing story

Justinian once again woke with a yawn. He noticed that in the night the Gods had blessed him greatly. He assigned protection to the new city of Adrianople, named for the man who the Gods chose to lead the city.

Lord Wintergaard was brought in to assist Radio's forces

A new city was founded an the site of the battle and named for the god Radio

Immediately a monument of Radio was constructed

Then Justinian was introduced to this lovely fellow..

Who apparently had barbarian problems.

And a man named Mansa Musa. "How alliterative.. but no Russians." Justinian said.

After finding out that they would need to get through the Barbarian Empire to get to Russia, a group of brave scouts were gathered. They would be escorted by Lord Wintergaard through the Barbarian lands.

But before that happened he fell into a deep sleep.

OVERVIEW OF THE KNOWN WORLD

I believe I finished BH's quest and radio's quest. (4 cities, city on island)
Working on finding them there Russians
Working on finding the Romans (would HRE count?)

Save: View attachment Heir of Rome.CivBeyondSwordSave

No, just the Romans. But they may or may not exist... :mischief:

Don't worry, there won't be a punishment if there are no romans, just certain things that will happen...

And btw, your peninsula looks suspiciously like italy, and the name of this is Heir of Rome...

I noticed that :p

'Jwitti, gaining great wealth from trade and staying in their homelands is making your people feeble and weak. I command you to explore the area to the south of Aio. Tell me it's name, which you should find out when you get to the south of it, and you shall be rewarded. Fail to do so, and you shall be punished.'

Changes:

Spoiler :
I added a crude imitation of Western and Central Europe to Jwitti's south. I gifted him sailing, gave a crab and a gold to Zara and some techs to Churchill. I moved the promised land because I didn't have enough space for Europe. It's still more or less in the same place and exactly the same, though.

:o I thought my mapdrawing skills were better than that :suicide:

"You captured the island, I'm kind of surprised" Radio boomed

"Well, I suyppose I can give you your reward now, first, I have given you two settlers, one to go to my promised land and another to build another city in my name"

"After you build the second city in my name, you must 'hook up' as the mortals call it these days the iron and horse around it, only after this can my other settler travel to the promised land, if he leaves early, prepare to be doomed!"

"Also, it's quite pssible another civilization could stumble upon the iron roads that will lead you to my lands, if they do and make it to my promised land, you're in a heap of trouble unless you are able to get them out."

Spoiler Quest :
Follow the instructions above, it's pretty self explanitory.

Spoiler NFJE :
Added a thin land bridge to my promised land with a railroad, improved the island he captured.

Since I don't have BtS on the Mac I am using (my PC's hard drive or graphics card crashed!), can someone post the changes for me? I'm hoping to have it fixed by February.
Anyway, here's my quest-
Justinian sat in the garden of his courtroom peacefully. Having just seen to the capture of the barbarian city, he decided to call it a day. He did not hear the man behind him approach. The man raised the dagger coated in the poison of the secret plant many Italian spies have used for millennia. just as he brought it down, an arrow erupted from the bushes as another man killed the assassin with his own knife.
Justinian, thinking this was a second attempt on his life called his guards, but they were too far away.
"Whoa, buddy, calm the hell down!" said the man.
"Who are you?!" Justinian screamed in a frightened voice.
The man pulled off the helmet of a Roman Legionary he was wearing and said "Marcus, god of archers. And I have a job for you."
Justinian dropped on one knee and began to say something, but Marcus interrupted with "Get up, I have no time for that. If you want to pray, pray at my temple. Hell, BUILD me a temple, for all I care, with the state of the way this blasted transporter is working it won't matter anyway." Justinian did notice sort of a flicker around the god's body but he thought it was from his power.
"Now, I have forseen that you will need help in future...conquests. Therefore, I have brought back from days yore a unit that will make all cower in fear. In your next war, this archer unit MUST be the one to take the city. But be ware, if you don't..."
And with that, Marcus disappeared.

Spoiler Quest :
Have the Longbowman that I give you-"The 21st Legion Archers"-not necessarily take out all the units in a city of ANOTHER PLAYER'S, but the last unit. You can do whatever else you want with it. And, if it becomes a gunpowder unit, make it the 21st Legion Snipers.

Spoiler NFJE :
Place a Longbowman unit with the name "21st Legion Archers" in his capitol with Guerilla 1 to Guerilla 3, the promo that gives you +25% vs Melee (shock? I can't remember at the moment),Tactics, and Cover.
