The silliest thing you've done recently

When I was doing my multiplay training last weekend I noticed that Justinian's score was "666"! That bad guy.. I thought he was spiritual.. in quite different way. That's where I got the inspiration to my current avatar system :).

Eddy would be proud of you Robert

"Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea
for the Devil sends the beast with wrath
because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
reckon the number of the beast
for it is a human number
its number is six hundred and sixty six."

Rock on! Robert ^^

Haha, nice! Iron Maiden rocks :)

As for the silliest thing I've done recently: I started playing Civ again. Bad, bad mistake... :mischief:

Yes this is a necro, but I built the National Park in the same city as Ironworks. :hammer2:

I should never build National Park.

A while ago, I built it in a city with no forests (and no health issues, because it was mostly hills).

In my current game, I built it in a city that already had National Epic. Same city also had a lucrative shrine... 2 bonus specialists does not beat +100 :gold: /turn

I almost never build it. IW city was putting out mad unhealthiness. Then I cut off access to coal and the production it brings to IW.

NP should have no effect on a shrine. May be pointless, but doesn’t make one wish to WB it out of existence.

Researching writing while intending to bulb monarchy and oracle feudalism.

Oh, I did it twice in a row. LOLOLOL

How does one even bulb monarchy?!
Get stonehenge as philo leader.

Research mediation, poly, mono, priesthood.

Don't research writing.

Bulb monarchy, then oracle feudalism. The great prophet should pop just before oracle.
If you research writing you'll be forced to bulb theo instead of monarchy.

I do this as sitting bull. Second porphet bulbs theo. Then just mass totem pole longbows with cover promos and click on enemy bronze age cities. Should hit before they have catapults. And dont try this vs Persia.

Also been doing this on raging barbs as holy rome with philo leader instead of charlie.

Well, I went to beeline to Liberalism, which is silly in the first place, but didn't have philosophy in hand so I went for the free Great Merchant, and then fat fingered myself into Astronomy research. Halfway there I realized what I had done. To top it off, Silly squared, I was playing marathon.

In one of my very first "higher-level" games (possibly Emperor), I built the Statue of Liberty on a one-city island with surprising production. I thought that was very realistic, considering the original is on an island of its own. Little did I know that it only adds a specialist in cities on the same continent. I was thoroughly unimpressed by its effect.

Misclick gave hill defense to my great medic scout. I used my heroic epic city to build a few medic 2 knights to make up for it.

I might start building more medics using settled great generals...having multiple medic 2 guys was very convenient.

I gotta laugh out this one. Great Role-playing though

I do the Mids> no Rep switch one all the time, though I usually figure it out by the time I go for the HR switch at Monarchy that I could have already done anyway lol.

I used to play with the grid because I would misjudge city BFCs...like all the time, and think they could get or share resources that turned out to be on diagonals. Oops.

Recently though...hmm. Been playing less as of late but the last game I played through past Currency I was cruising on in tech, got Music first, planning to Lib MT. Mansa is on the continent so I could trade anything I wanted basically. I picked up Machinery in a derp moment. Mansa also decided to 2-turn plot and DoW shortly after that despite hating the other 2 on the continent, so it's not like I played that one out much longer to suffer from it though haha.

I picked this thread because i really don't know where to post this. I've played many succession games in CIV, so i've learn how to avoid stupid mistakes.
But this is about a crazy thing i did. At the time I loved Fall from Heaven mod and recently I enjoyed play again all its scenarios.
Well, I decided to write a novel based on those scenarios, freely mixed and adapted. Unfortunately I write in Italian, so this post is aiming to the few Italian members of this community.
The first chapter of the trilogy called EREBUS is already published.

I just had a flashback to my early days: I misread the "our close borders spark tension" as "closed borders" and wondered if there was like a second way to open borders because I had signed the Open borders agreement. Knowing myself, I probably just ignored it and hoped for the best :)
