First, I want to thank you for putting faith in us , the more faith the more powerfull we grow (lame reference).
I've been a Touhou fan for a while, and the Civilization series is just very good fun. In fact, the first mod I downloaded for Civ IV was Touhou Jojishi, and the first mod for Civ V was the Remilia Scarlet faction. A total conversion of Touhou civs for Civ V is my dream.Eee, someone else noticed us!
I'd really love to get ahold of some of the unit models from Touhou Jojishi, though. However, from the sounds of it, converting Civ IV models to Civ V is akin to pulling teeth
I don't mean you have to convert them directly, but if that's possible, it's worth a try. What I meant is basically designing your models from scratch based on what the Civ IV models appear as.
About not replacing the vanilla civs, Graan's Scarlet Estate, Huitzil's Great Fairy Alliance and Palace of Earth spirits replace some vanilla civs, so I'm afraid it's impossible to have ALL the vanilla civs in-game
That's rotten luck right there. Well, if it turns out to be anything like Jojishi, I'm guessing there will be 9 touhou civs in all, which leaves space for a few good real-life civs to operate. I don't know which civs are most worth saving, but I'd say try to save the ones that are the most popular (examples would include Rome, the British Empire, Napoleon's France, etc and so on).
Voice actors? That is looking too far I think, but if we get far enough in this, I guess it's kind of possible.
That will probably have to wait a loooooong ways down the road... I wouldn't know where to start in looking for something like that!
Well, of course the actual programming and graphic design takes precedent over auxiliary features like voice acting and such. But if there are enough resources left over from this project, voice acting would be a nice place to put them. And if voice acting becomes a very real possibility, it's only a matter of finding willing VAs with good mics to record audio scripts.
