The ultimate, immortal, city-killing warlord

we still don't know the strength of privateers and whether or not they will be able to sink galleons or the Dutch UUs.
Privateers have a strength of six, so should be able to reliably sink galleons, and be an even match for the Dutch UU. http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/117753/Privateer.JPG

And their UB is so specific in terms of placement--must have a river and coastal tiles to receive bonus--that I think they will only get a couple of them in the entire game.
True, it is not as useful as the Rat House of HRE, but I love hugging the coast so I am looking forward to exploting dikes.
The traits are the only things going for the Dutch that are pretty good.
Yes, I like the traits. I think my first game will be as the Netherlands.

Someone in the BtS forum stated that you don't need to have a river-coastal city to build a dike, the city has to be EITHER coastal or near a river to be able to build a dike, so it's not as limited as most people are thinking, and the dike still grants the hammer bonus to river tiles that a levee would give.
