    Help with Diplomacy

If my merory serves me right, you have to go to the Foreign Minister screen and shift-click (or some combination of that) on a figurehead to access other figureheads. You can only view 8 figures at a time, so you just have to rotate them tediously! Hope that helps!

How to "safely" end a war?

I dont know about being labeled a warmonger, but I have noticed a proclivity in other civs to attack me when I'm strong. Nevertheless, I have had very long stretches where no one attacked me after a glorious war of conquest. Also, many times wars would start a few moves after I culturally...

    Going Peaceful

The peace strategy is the one i try to follow as often as i can. Too often I too get boxed in by rapacious neighbours. I just take what I can, and build up this core as best as I can - and a few settlers too. Often when wars erupt between AI players, many cities go up in smoke. That's when my...

RAZE or ANNEX. Which is better?

The question is whether your war is limited or to the death. If its limited, then razing might be preferable, with your own settlers ready in the wings. If its to the death, then annex all. You need captured cities as springboards for your rolling offensive. Besides, once that civ is dead...

    Best strategy for modern d-day?

All are excellent strategies. And some good points of caution too, especially keeping a tab on other civilizations' opinions of you. The most painless way to get into a war against an opponent is to sign a defensive alliance with his enemy. Since war is almost continuous, this is guaranteed to...

    Nuclear Warfare

Has anyone had a post-nuclear cataclysm Global Warming subside? In my game, it been 40 years (40 turns) since about 40 nukes were used in a two-nation exchage, and I still have Global Warming turning my lush green squares into barren desert!

    Civilization III v1.16f Additions/Changes/Fixes

I hear your observation about slow leader promotions. Too often, I stay in wars just to get that damned first leader, only to get not a one and waste tens of elite units, while another civ gets lucky in one battle and starts cranking out them Armies like a sausage factory. Nevertheless, I see no...

    The ruthless, merciless, warmongering AI

The answer to your question lies in the Civilopedia. Try Game Concepts, then Culture. There will be a short explanation of Global Cultures. Yes, being in the same global culture helps in diplomacy. I believe that like cultures are more prone to being nice. In all my games, I cant recall...

Savegame error: DataIO operation System Error: CITY

I got snagged with this error myself last night. As someone reported, it occured immediately after a cityless civ got killed off. I know for a fact that the civ in question did have a settler and a galleon left after all its cities were captured. Unfortunately there is no hope of me preventing...

    Official Corruption Solutions Thread

Here's the answer. Open the Civ3Mod.bic file in the civ3 editor, and follow these steps: 1) Go to Tools menu option, and deselect default rules. This will enable you to see all the rules. 2) Go to Rules->Edit->World Sizes. Then click the World Sizes tab. Tada! You can now view that corruption...
