Help with Diplomacy

Hi! Can anyone help me with the following: When playing with more than 8 civs is there anyway to access info regarding mutual protection pacts, embargo's, etc., for the civilizations that do not have figureheads on the Foreign Affairs screen? Shift+D allows you to contact all civs and tells you if you are at war or peace with them but does not have any more detailed info. (I accidentally started a world war when I attacked a "hidden" civilization that had multiple MPP's)!

If my merory serves me right, you have to go to the Foreign Minister screen and shift-click (or some combination of that) on a figurehead to access other figureheads.

You can only view 8 figures at a time, so you just have to rotate them tediously!

Robertr4836, Lt. Killer M. is actually very friendly. The answer is in the FAQ, 4th item in "Diplomacy and Trade Questions." Like he says, it's a good idea to read it. There are some other tricky points like how to build an embassy.

what what what?? whats the point in postin then?? whats the point in all this.. why don't you just put up a Faq. and remove all the rest of this.. If i wanted to know how to do something in my Civ game i would read the book. I post to know others and to know what they think. and Makeing friends here is part of it.. isn't it??

Back to Robert..

Yep been their.. went to war with one bugger and ended up at war with 3 others. I like to play will all the nations.. lots more fun as you can see. with their MPP. need to be more takful. And i think ya made a point there to.. You should be able to see all the nations and what kind of friendship they have with each other... I liked the Happy, angery faces of call to power.. knew where ya were in relation to others.. i fine the Dip, this time a bit lacking in that area. and haveing to screw around with keys to fine out about such things is a bastard. your answer to the question has been answer. so from one newbie to another.. greetins and welcome to the best forum on the web.

[GR]Ishtari: sure, but if it is an obvious noob Q it will just push other hotely debated threads down the page. You will see that I am very carefull where I say 'should habae been in FAQ and noob thread' and where not - because I can imagine a longer conversation coming. If you go a while back in the threads you will find that sometimes the same question got asked in four seperate threads within two days


also, the forum is NOT here to be a version of the manual that takes other peoples time because some are too lazy to read! After all, you will need to read the answers to your question!

I agree the manual is bad (and outdated) - that is why I (wiht the help of many others who suppl the answers) go to the trouble to provide a shortened, better sorted version that covers all the basics that aren't obvious 8and some of those and some advanced stuff).
