Isramod - Israel as playable civ

Actually, Maccabee is the name of a family resp. the Hasmonaim. I remember one game where the AI built dozens of Elephants and I had a hard time competing since I had no ivory and I couldn't produce spearmen fast enough. So here is an idea for a Maccabee spearman, slightly cheaper than the...

Isramod - Israel as playable civ

Hmmm, I like the slinger idea. Not sure if it should replace the archer though. But there isn't much choice in the ancient area.

    RealFort Mod

Great stuff. I think the defence bonus should be boosted too. A hill with a forrest gives you 75% but the fort only 25%... so with the original rules there is really no good reason to build a fort when you have a forrest nearby....

    Britannia 450 AD

I have gone through my historical map archive. From the point the Franks took over (455AD) the city is refered as Cologne (Köln -> old german spelling: Coeln). So you were right from the start except for the typo :).

    Ancient Mediterranean Map (for TAM)

TAM was (and still is) my favorite mod. I would be happy to help out. I've spent the last days exploring the XML structure of Civ4 by working on an Israeli mod which im kinda using to gain some experience with moding in Civ4. Next step is phyton which doesn't look to bad either. So if there is...

Isramod - Israel as playable civ

Haha, armchair Israeli. That's a new expression :). I'm Israeli yes but you guessed it right I'm currently living chuz laaretz because of my job which makes me moving arround a lot. I'm planing to add Shlomo and maybe even Chizqiyah. For modern leaders probably Ben Gurion for a start. But...

    Britannia 450 AD

500AD is just about the time where the city name switched from Colonia Agrippina to Cologne due to the Frankish invasion. So for the Franks Cologne would be right IMO. Very nice map indeed - there is a lot of potential for full scenarios indeed. Hope to see this one develop into a full early...

    Masonry prerequisite for Monotheism?

That is so true. Every intellectual argument requires axioms, which themselves cannot be proven. No system can be proven without evidence from beyond that system. Thus Human logic cannot prove anything absolutely. For absolute knowledge, you’ll have to find another tool.

Isramod - playable Israeli Civ: Work in progress. Help needed with graphics.

It's the button only - I will have the flag for download soon. The button is showing the official emblem of Israel which is the Menorah - which incidentally was a symbol used in ancient Israel too. So it covers both periods. It seems though I didn't save the button correctly, something is...

    Masonry prerequisite for Monotheism?

Judaism has indeed a concept of Satan - it is completly different to the Christian concept though. And it has not changed ever since. Satan is not evil by itself. There is no struggle between G-d and Satan. Since G-d is the creater of everything it was G-d who created Satan, and he is a...

    Masonry prerequisite for Monotheism?

Yes, the original is in Hebrew with the late texts in Arameic. All other versions are only translations. The structure of the Hebrew language and how it is used and interpreted is very different then latin or english - thus if you want to discuss certain passages or single use of words IN DETAIL...

    Masonry prerequisite for Monotheism?

Also - somethig where Jewish interpretation is different from christian theology is that the creation of mankind e.g. Adam and Eve is not the physical creation but the creation of the soul. The vessel which is the human body is seperate and thus it is no problem for us that the human body is a...

    Masonry prerequisite for Monotheism?

There is none. How could there be. The artefacts with exact quotes are evidence enough. If you personally think that this is not enough proof that's your take - however there is even less evidence to suggest that the Torah was written down in Babylon - in fact it is only a vague theory based on...
