Your forgetting the fact that the city that built the SOZ is not only getting the free unit but also building its own unit/improvement at the same time. Double your pleasure, double your fun!!

It clearly states in my Instructions to remove Civ 3 before installing Civ Complete(it installs it anyway so why not uninstall it). It will still keep your saved games but you have to play those with Vanilla, not with Conquests(which is the default directory).

Before I bought Civ Complete I tried patching my Vanilla & had the same problem. I had to uninstall Civ 3 & then install the patch & reinstall Civ3.

First of all, which version are you running? Is it Civ III Complete or just plain Vanilla Civ? Civ III Cimplete says to uninstall any old version of Civ before installing. It installs all 3, Civ(vanilla), Play the world & Conquests(default setup). It should save all your old saved games but...

OK, that is true. But if you are already in the process of building it, the computer should let you finish building it. At least that is how it always was when I was using Vanilla. The computer still lets me finish any other kind of improvement, just not temples.

I can't help you with all your questions but as for your Carrier group... I almost always use CAP(Constant Air Patrol) as cover for my Carrier groups. Funny thing is that they never seem to attack them with bombers, go figure.
