I actually like Civ 4s government system, where you have several social policy choices that construct your civlizations mode of rule, chosing things like your actual governmetn structure, economic policy, and more. It's more complex, so I'm not surprised they moved away from it, but it does have...
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I personally find the leader and civ design in 6 to be really intersting, and I think it's turning into my favorite in the series because of it, despite the notoriously bad AI (Hey, I cant' even win on emperor yet, so the AI being bad isnt' a problem for...
I'm finding I'm having trouble transitioning to having an army and starting wars in the early game. What are some ideal civs for a player new to the higher difficulties to start with, if I want to improve my domination game? While I enjoy civs with unique mechanics (Hammurabi, who was...
I realize this depends on the leader you're playing as, your map, your opponents, and your victory goal, but to the extent that you can generalize, what are some good milestone goals to shoot for when playing on higher difficulties, say, Emperor and up. For example, get your first setler by x...
Ooh, a new to me podcast, and about Civ! Hope your able to effectivley treat your injuries, and hope everythign goes well with the other hosts. And good luck with your big project! I'll have to check out some of the backlog of Polycast and see how I like it.
The game makes numerous abstractions for gameplay, and having a single leader for all time is one of those. I think it's fine, it's supposed to be iconic or interesting leaders, and they mostlyi succeed at that. If you do want different rulers, you might check out Old World, which covers the...
I want Akbar as the leader for India, and have since Iearned about him. He's my favorite figure in Indian history, and one of my favorite historical figures anywhere.
I actually really like inland sea, I'll try this out. I stated a game with fractal.
As for my answer, I realliy find Ambiorix of the Gauls to be interesting and fun to play, and also enjoy Basil a lot, but I'm not sure he counts as the most mecahncially interesting, I love the idea of religion...
For the Maori, my concern iis that (as far as I know) they're OP on any island map, and not on underpowered on larger continent maps like continent or pangea. Is there a map that's balanced for them, so naval power matters, but not so much that they have a huge advantage?
So of the leaders in Civ VI, who has the most interesting or fun mechanics and gameplay, whether it's leader ability, civ ability, or unique units or buildings?
