Why does Washington not want to win?

When the AI wins in CiV, it only wins 'by accident'. The AI's don't play to win, they only play to make the player's life as miserable as possible. °dA

    Steam Crap

Check that you aren't in offline mode. Check that you have 'Automatically keep this game up to date' set. (posting just to make the effing 'it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks' message disappear) °dA

    First screenshot from Civ VI!

Way to revive a months old troll thread. Seriously, as delicious as the haters' tears are, stale threads like this are just a waste of space. (posting just to get the stupid 'it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks' message to disappear) °dA If you have a problem...

    Expansions vs DLC

And you know why? Because it WORKS. °dA

Why doesn't Firaxis tell us what they plan on doing with the game?

Perhaps because they don't plan on doing anything? They have your money. CiV's still on Steam's best-selling list People will buy Civ 6 or a Civ 5 expansion no matter what. Every patch they released lead to more whining instead of less. So, why should they care again? °dA, happily...

    Jon Shafer Leaves Firaxis

As much as I like CiV so far and as much as it pains me to do so, I'm tempted to say 'and good riddance'. Also, while I won't engage in any fired/chickened out/simply quit/whatever speculations, I'd still like to express my vexation over his departure happening at a very, very inopportune time...

Changing the Minimum Distance between Cities?

Don't know how and why the evaluation routine breaks when calculating city distances across the sea, and if it breaks at all. I only know it's happened since at least Civ4. °dA

Changing the Minimum Distance between Cities?

These are on the ocean. On the seas all rules are null and void. °dA

    Jon Shafer Details Upcoming Patch

I sincerely hope the Devs won't cave to the legion of naysayers who want Civ5 turned into Civ4½. I mean, a plethora of twenty-page threads full of 'U SUK!!1', all the while the people who like Civ5 don't say nothing because they're busy actually playing the game is bound to create a very biased...

Small tip: trading post on marsh land

Even better, there's a setting in options where tile yields only display for Settlers and Workers, which is not nearly as intrusive as having them constantly enabled. °dA

Small tip: trading post on marsh land

Seeing that building TP's in forests an jungles doesn't clear said feature, this behaviour may be intended. Thanks for the heads up though. °dA

    Granaries worth building?

Depends on the circumstances. A food-heavy monster coldn't care less about 2 food, but that tundra city you just founded near the single iron mine on the whole continent wouldn't mind having something- no, anything to eat... °dA

Why is the ai so good at keeping its people happy?

That was the case in 4 and BtS but in CiV the AI seems to play Prince difficulty. GlobalDefines.xml <Row Name="BARBARIAN_HANDICAP"> <Key>HANDICAP_CHIEFTAIN</Key> <Table>HandicapInfos</Table> </Row> <Row Name="MINOR_CIV_HANDICAP"> <Key>HANDICAP_PRINCE</Key>...

What's the largest city you've had?

About 28ish with Ghandi in a food-heavy spot. Could have been in the mid-thirties had I remembered the 'manual specialist control' button earlier  °dA (Wha? No  smilie? Seriously?!)
