Maybe we should open a anti-stress/RSI forum, where we can help addicts with hints & tips to prevent (at least make an attempt to prevent ;) ) the 'one more turn' syndrom and fisical injury.

In Switzerland, where I've been a dozen times (family living over there), you can find real mountains. In comparison to Switzerland Holand is just as flat as a panecake!! :D

I'm also new at playing GOTM's and I've done this:
1. Install gamepack GOTM 21.
2. Install gamepack GOTM 22.
3. Install gamepack GOTM 23.
Sounds simple and it is! Now get those packs, get the save and start civ'n! Good luck. :)

The beauty of this game is that everbody can play it at his or hers own style and difficulty. I am just a perfectionist who wants all tiles to be perfectly roaded and irrigated/mined. No city radius may overlap etc. And I know that's not to way to beat the game at king's level or above! :)...

To speed up things you can set your units and AI units movement to fast (without the animations) This should cut down waiting time! Especially on large maps, with many players and lot's of unit's!

Only thing I would like to add to the remarks of Turner_727 is:
Build courthouses in your cities. Mainly those who are futher away from your capital city. A courthouse reduces corruption and hence reduces commerce wasted to corruption.
