I did not directly fight in any wars. I went on active duty as a US Army officer one month before South Vietnam fell in 1975. I did work as a consultant for the US Marine Corps during the First Gulf War in 1991, doing various projects aimed at helping the Marines to fight better, and nearly went back on active duty with them at that time. I have continued to work with various US Government agencies as a consultant since Sept. 11 in trying to help the US military to fight better and more effectively.
