Has anyone ever gone through a nasty losing streak before?

I remember when I first played Civ4, I would build giant armies. This would drain my economy, to which I was completely oblivious. Now, building a giant army isn't bad if it is compensated by huge gains. But I just patrolled my borders with them, overestimating the AI, and lagging hopelessly...

    Nukes not appreciated

That sounds like a very interesting strategy, I'm going to try that some time :D Usually I play the other way around, building the UN centuries before anyone else can build nukes.

The <civName> people from the city of <cityName> have seen their homes burned!

Are you sure it's 0.01 seconds? Because maybe that could tell us something :P I'm not using a mod, I did change some things in the XML files. I increased the map size (I love übergiant maps!) and changed the time intervals so I can enjoy the early stages of the games longer. Now I'll see...

The <civName> people from the city of <cityName> have seen their homes burned!

Lol I know, feels like cheating. I now just delete the free unit so that I don't cheat :P At some point the AI will get the free units as well though, maybe then I should consider keeping some of them... New fact: the city which was supposedly razed is at map coordinates 0,0: I see a red...

The <civName> people from the city of <cityName> have seen their homes burned!

Hi, No city has been razed, and I can only select the option that allows the formation of a new unit in my capital. I do remember now that this event always starts during a change of civics, usually when I get Economics. From then on, I get a free unit every turn. Thanks for the reply!

    Why is it that...

I suppose it is a bit unfair, though it is something permitted by the rules of the game. I read somewhere that someone made the GW into a National Wonder, maybe that would even the odds? Or maybe each city can build a sort of GW after building a 'normal' wall, only protecting that city's...

    Production overflow

Ah, right, I suppose I didn't read your previous post properly :hammer2: Thanks! :D

The <civName> people from the city of <cityName> have seen their homes burned!

I'm sure everyone recognizes this message. My apologies if this question has been asked before, but I didn't find it in the forums. I get this message every turn from a certain point in the game. Around turn 700 or so, I usually get this message in every game I play. The civName is...

    Production overflow

What happens when you have a repeating production of, for example, tanks, and your city produces more than the required # of hammers? The surplus hammers go into the next tank, but at some point, you'll have enough hammers to produce 2 tanks. Will you actually get 2 tanks at that point? Or will...

    Nukes not appreciated

While I was invading Montezuma, GigglyMess decided this would be a good time to try and invade me. After my tanks butchered his landing party of cuirassiers and musketmen, I decided to nuke his capital, to tell him off. Now, some of the other civs have a negative attitude toward me (-1) because...

    Why is it that...

Hi everyone, thanks for your reactions. I've reviewed the replay of the game in question but I haven't been able to find a 'massive barbarian uprising' event. It should show up there, right? I checked the version I am using, it is 3.17 :) I'm guessing it was a matter of (bad) luck...

    Ooops, I won!

Hehe that is a nice one :D

    What exactly Airships do?

That would be really cool, and solve the housing problem in some places ;) Just use all the ground to build farms and live above them :D

    Why is it that...

Yeah, those must have been some bad-ass barbs! Isn't there a way to see those battles? I think that would make for a nice feature, since I enjoy watching replays and see how things came to be as they are.
