How do you get AI players to dislike another AI player?
I am a fairly new player and I tend to play in a highly peaceful manner. One reason is that when I attempt to play more aggressively I soon end up completely isolated and everyone hates me.
I've noticed that sometimes one of the AI...
Oh, that article is so infuriating. It makes many fair points but the ending was down right insulting. Basically explaining await Civ V's popularity as being down to people mainly unfamiliar with the Civ franchise or strategy games in general. I've played Civ since II and the worse version for...
I like the way that religion works in Civ5, especially the way you can customize it to make it work for whatever kind of victory you are going for.
However, is it ever a good idea to simply not bother building faith buildings and/or not trying to establish your own religion? Or is it the...
But a "flat culture bonus" is subject to multipliers surely?
A lot of people have cited France as a good cultural civ, presumably because of their +2 culture per city which is another kind of flat bonus. Sure it kicks in right away rather than having to wait for temples but at least the +2...
I'm surprised people cited Ethiopia being good for domination. They seem more defensively oriented with their bonus for fighting civs with more cities (something that's likely to disappear once you start conquering) and their unique unit that gets a bonus only when close to the capital.
And...
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.
I probably should point out that so far I've tried (for domination) only with Germany. They seemed like a strong race to go for due to their reduced unit maintenance and having two unique units (although I'm wondering whether the Panzer comes a bit...
Yes, I did bribe the mercantile city states for happiness but it still seemed to be a struggle to keep my people happy. Especially once I'd taken out a couple of enemy civs, everyone regards me as a warmongering menace and won't trade anymore.
Interesting your suggestion of social polices as they are all quite spread out in different groups.
I've tended to fully uncover the "Liberty" group (which encompasses "Meritocracy") and then take stuff from the "Commerce" group until "Autocracy" becomes available and then go for as many of...
I read somewhere in a guide to the different victory types that Domination is the easiest to play for but I seem to find it incredibly difficult.
I play at prince level and have won the game quite easily with the other three victory types (cultural, diplomatic & scientific) but domination...
I don't understand what all this big love is for CivIV. I was in love with CivII and CivIII back in the day and I never could get into CivIV (not for want of trying). Now I've tried CivV and I've got back into the game again; it feels like a proper Civ game again (in a way that CivIV never felt...
Interesting rant by mmmfloorpie, but I was surprised to hear anyone say they found CivIV so much better than V.
Personally, My Civ playing days go back to CivII. I loved it and enjoyed CivIII when it came out too. But when CivIV finally arrived, I couldn't get into it. I tried and tried, kept...
I'm fairly new to Civ5 but there's a few questions I have regarding religion.
Firstly, I don't understand how religion spreads generally (of it's own accord). I notice that when you hover over a city, not only can you see the number of followers of each city present but also the pressure that...
Paradox Interactive's Hearts of Iron 2 did include leaders such as Hitler but they have drawn a line. They don't use the Nazi flag. Also the concepts of terror bombing and concentration camps are not in the game. Probably sensible really as these concepts aren't really necessary for gameplay...
