    Has production scaling gotten worse?

And in my recent V Immortal game I threw my second city into a nice Petra spot to find Monty and Augustus right by it, desperately sold it to A as a bribe to war M, still got DOW'd by A and Wu together, had to fight them off, conquer M, reconquer my Petra city, and still built Petra there...

    New civ : Australia

I allso enjoy really fresh and new ideas that represent a different culture. Like next we should have a civ for New York. Then California. Big markets, those More visionary feats from a design team who told us that in VI we would engage more with the map...

gosh, I just realize l've spent 25 min of my life on moving my troop to start a war

I can't believe anyone has trouble crediting the 25 minute figure. I wasn't long into the game before I had bottlenecks where I spent probably 1 minute between 5 turns trying to figure out how to get a scout through faster than one unit per turn. Being forced to sacrifice movement points leads...

    District cost and other thoughts

Just make districts cost 0 hammers, and increase the unlock requirements a bit, I've been saying it since like week 1 and people screamed at me. But it's not sounding very crazy now imo... Cities are already paying a tile and an opportunity cost (district types other than the one planted at the...

The imbalance patch: Break VI to make it better

I finally realized what I think Firaxis should do to make VI into a winner: They should recklessly patch the game overnight, to unbalance all of the game systems at once so that VI is almost unplayable / unfinishable above Prince. I'll list the breaks they should introduce below. If you are...

One thing for the job of two

Sure for realism (in another thread I argued that culture in real life came from masonry as much as the printing press) but for gameplay, it should just be a choice to invest in one or the other thing. Culture from everything means culture might as well not be a mechanic.

One thing for the job of two

I agree w OP. There are other things I dislike about VI that are higher on the list of why I stopped playing it, but if those were fixed and I got to 200 odd hours, I imagine I would be quitting for the civics mess V's policy trees were incredibly flawed (every version of the game just shifted...

Are negative opinions of Civ6 allowed here?

Why bring up V's hardly functional release state as a sign of optimism for VI? What V showed that Firaxis could release a pared-down, totally unbalanced sketch of a game, and grow the brand for three years of expansions. Whereas BE showed that they could release a complex, fairly balanced and...

I thought more about whether amenities should be global or local based on the stated design intention of each city having a mini-game with three elements for growth. (Sorry to hijack the thread) In my last post I said: the semi-global amenities resource reflected that they never really finished...

Opinions about the new movement system

It's not that I would blanket assert that movement rules which spice up chase tactics are bad for multi-unit battle tactics, but when I think of what makes your example scenario fun, I think of Legend of Zelda. Where enemies just zip by you but have no will to attack, only by accident. Here the...

Opinions about the new movement system

Yes yours I think. It's not that I would blanket assert that movement rules which spice up chase tactics are bad for multi-unit battle tactics, but when I think of what makes your example scenario fun, I think of Legend of Zelda. Where enemies just zip by you but have no will to attack, only by...

Opinions about the new movement system

Yeah the second thing is what I keep recommending. It is fine with me, allows attacking into hills/rivers with 1mp and doesn't give or steal MPs from any units. To reply to one from another poster yesterday, not being able to attack into hills/rivers and thus allowing your unit to escape while...

Are negative opinions of Civ6 allowed here?

it means that Civ turns would proceed like RPG, especially like Banner Saga, where your units alternate with the AI's. It negates focus fire which makes the AI a lot more dangerous, weeee

I still agree with this thread's OP. Here is how I would currently phrase the argument for globalizing amenities or otherwise scrapping the current system: In VI if my city wants "thing" the choice should only be "give city thing or not." We want binary growth choices and complex impacts. That...

Are negative opinions of Civ6 allowed here?

Oof, there was and is so much they could and still need to do. "Unstack" turns, make tile yields passive, make it more this that etc etc.
