Does this mod alter the base game, or can it be activated/deactivated like many other smaller mods, such as Wonders of Westeros or the like?

Geothermal does have one benefit over the other strategic resources if I recall though, it increases the base yield of the tile by two energy without improvement. All the others need improvement first. Still a disappointment to not have it be more useful.

Both. Unhealth is at .75 a pop. Certain improvements (the manufactory and oil well) add to it as well.

Farms can get higher than that. Base +1 food. There is a quest that makes them have +1 food or +1 energy IIRC. Ectogenesis pod gives them an additional +1 food. Flood Plain city start could have 4 food, 1 production, and 2 energy. Fantastic start really.

IIRC, there is a year marked for each turn as well in the upper right. Maybe that was only in earlier models.
