No... just never loads when I click on it. Ive tried using shortcuts, the main one in Program Files as well as the auto start when you put the CD in, no go. When task manager is running and I attempt to start it it never shows CIV as running at all.

Im having this same problem, have both vanilla and BTS installed and patched and neither will load. Running as admin doesnt help, and running in either XP or 2k compatability modes doesnt help. I really enjoyed playing this game on my old XP computer and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, read Sisiutil's beginner's guide, it will help lots. After you have the basics down I would recommend reading some of his ALC games, particularly the earlier ones. They helped me out tons when I first started CIV.
