I won't argue with you on this issue, sounds like you know way more than I do. I will give what worked for me though...Windowed Mode. Did not cure the problem, but mad it run much smoother. For the record, I have no idea why....I just followed a suggestion someone else posted here.

Just a quick reply here since I do not want to get into some flame war... You have the right hardware and the game. Still get CTD's? Change you drivers...Latest drivers (even though I have heard this enough on this forum) usually is NOT going to fix you problem. Keep rolling your drivers...

Radeon 9800 Pro Catalyst 5.2 <- Windowed Mode, AA = 2 No CTD I had one one CTD and lag issue in end game before windowed Mode. Hope this helps
