Roleplaying Your Civ vs. Playing to Win

I like to reolplay some scenarios. I also like to impose rules on myself to make the game more realistic and or difficult. I find that using cheat mode to give ships for transportation to the AI can make games much more exciting. Not always, but it happens. I played the scenario AWAW recently...

    So, Freeciv anyone?

I was not trying to say you should see wether you liked the game, or it's interface or somesuch, I was hoping you would see how scenario making is done in Civ 2. Civ 2 is a great scenario creating engine, and a good scenario playing engine. Freeciv is a bad scenario creating engine, but I see...

    Simultaneous Play by Email

I think changing the current player could be done by saving the game as a .sav game and then using the cheat menu to change the current player.

    Railroad movement

The road movement multiplier can be changed in the rules file, but railroad movement is always zero, when on railroad squares. I do not believe there is any way to change this.

    So, Freeciv anyone?

I was going to write a list of how the system is set up in Civ 2, but I realized that if you don't care enough to play it just enough to see how it works, you won't bother reading such a list. Unless you live in some remote part of Lapland you must have access to a Windows computer somewhere...

    So, Freeciv anyone?

FreeCiv is vastly more complicated to mod than Civ 2. This is probably the single deal breaker. I really tried to find out how to work it, but I came to the conclusion that at the current stage it's not worth the time. The biggest problem, I think, is that any scenario would need to be spread...

    The Silmarillion

The scenario looks awesome. The map should be a bit more explored for the factions, beyond just the areas around each city. Makes it very confusing to play as is, even though I have played other Silmaril scenarios, and read the book again and again.

    Alien Worlds graphics request

Looks good, and the documentation is great help. I have planned to make something for Either FreeCiv or Civ2 for a while now, but it seems certain this will not be realistically possible until I have finished school. The games will still be around then, so I'm not very stressed.

    Cold War Scenarios?

Here are both the MGE and ToT version. I haven't played the ToT version, but I think it's no doubt just as good or even better than the MGE one. There are a few extra units too, although they can't be viewed in the civiliopedia, so you'll have to refer to the rules file to see what they do. Or...

    Cold War Scenarios?

http://sleague.civfanatics.com/index.php/Category:Atomic First Strike is an excellent scenario, but I don't think its much fun single player. I've heard great things about Iron Curtain, but never played it. I´m sure there are many others but I don't trcall any right now.

    The Cold War

Most major cities in FS have Industrial Sectors, the terrain squares that give lots of trade, food and production. If players could pay(subtract via cheat mode I guess), say, 5000 gold, they would be allowed to change one piece of terrain by one of their cities into an Industrial Sector...

    The Cold War

Great news, First Strike is one of my top favourite scenarios. (Along with A Soaring Spirit I guess.) Some ideas I have had while playing First Strike: Players can "buy" Industrial sectors, for a large sum of course. Finding the right price would be a hassle though. If they were too...

    Scenerio Stargate SG1 v1.3 Scenerio CIV2

If you're still interested you might try to either post this in the Scenario League Forum, where the scenarios maker, Kobayashi sometimes checks in, or simply send him a message.

How do you play by Email?

Hello, oh Mighty Zug. The way we "Play By Email" is that one player plays his turn, then uploads his game, so that the next player in line simply downloads the save, plays his turn, then uploads again for the next player to download and play and so on. There is only one active PBEM scene...
