Should there be ways of bouncing back?

I play at the highest three difficulties, depending on the experience I want. However, stopping a runaway isn't always easy. What happens if you start close to a warmonger who attacks on turn 50 with a large army, while another warmonger on the other side of the continent steamrolls Ghandi and...

Should there be ways of bouncing back?

Over 200 looks and not ONE idea??? Come on people, if the devs see this they might make it part of another patch :p

Should there be ways of bouncing back?

So, as most of you know, at higher levels an AI civ can have tons of cities not long after turn 100. They may have 5-7 cities of their own, plus another 5-7 captured cities from more inept AI. Happiness doesn't slow them down, and if you aren't close enough to stop them, they become so...

Idea for 2nd Expansion (Treaties and Colonies)

Couple of things. The Kongo and Khmer UAs seem super weak. 10% bonus for the city if its built next to a mountain? How would that make a difference, as most of the time mountain cities are easy to defend anyway? Khmer also forces you to keep jungles next to your starting location, which...

Can't you get it most of the time if you gun for it and chop?

Do you think the social policies are evenly balanced now?

Amen! I was thinking of making a thread of how it is a serious problem that expansion was pretty much nerfed in this game. The expanding cost of social policies combined with essentially useless strategic resources and nothing like the hamlet->village->etc makes all but the best (close)...

    Philosophy of Sids 'Civilization'

I think the real thing is that Civ has a science focus. Everyone must develop science or be left far behind. Such thinking has only been around for the past few centuries, and it is more or less a western invention. That, I think, is the philosophy of Civ.

    History of wonders with patches

Thank you very much :D I got BTS in 2010, nearly before CiV was released. It's nice knowing how wonders have changed little in this game. CiV has had tons of rebalancing issues. Now, I'm curious as to whether the changes in techs/buildings really created or screwed over certain strategies.

    History of wonders with patches

Hi, its been a long time since I played Civ 4. Civ 5 has seen a ton of changes to wonders that have made many of them go from good to bad and back again many times with patches. I just want to know the history of Civ 4 wonders, how they changed, how strategies were born and died around...

Thanks for the sources, guys. I'll check them out.

Full info for those of us without the game

Is there any place that gives full info on every change (such as policy changes, new improvements, wonders, etc). Most of the news sites do not have everything. I'm sorry if there is some resource or site with this information. Thanks

    Celtic music-Bagpipes: Yea or Nay

Title says it all. I'm in the hellz yeah team. :) But as long as the music is on par with Brennus' theme in 4...it was one of the best imo.

    Fallen Enchantress

If Shafer is ruining, oops, I mean working on this game, you can probably count me out. Unless a lot of other people say that its way better and more complex that Civ 5 at release, I'll likely skip this one. Remember, CiV looked cool when it was a bunch of pictures, but when everyone started...
