The endgame tedium that's been in Civ since the beginning was always a UI issue. They need to introduce more ways to automate small decisions, have an ai governor take over cities that aren't important. The introduction of 1UPT made it much worse.
Bit of a long shot; wondering if anyone knows how to change the names of the ideologies from Democracy, Autocracy, Order to Capitalism, Fascism, Communism. It's only a text change for flavor. Thanks!

I'm shocked that the Devs are willing to take these big risks and make big changes considering the huge success Civ6 was. I was expecting a very safe, conservative approach to Civ7.
The tedious late game, especially in Civ6 after turn ~100 was always a UI issue. There was never a way to automate things you didn't care about, or select multiple units and give orders all at once. I'm looking forward to the general unit mechanic. It's the feature I'm looking forward to the most.
Civ switching seems gimmicky to me. I hope they handle it well, but I just don't see the reasoning behind it. It's odd to have the Romans as your neighbor in the beginning and then have them switch over to the HRE for the middle age only to switch over to French in the third age. I don't...
I'm worried about a lot of these new mechanics. The event system and the scripted crises at the end of each age seem to be ways to force guardrails on the player. I'm not a fan. Let the player direct the gameplay. It seems like too much handholding. I prefer to play the game instead of the game...
