    Building Balance (V2.6)

Building in the early game is fun because each city feels unique, but once you get to the mid/late game that sort of disappears. I think each building does too much. It might be a good idea to have something like the government plaza in Civ 6 in each era. A choice to build one of three unique...

The core of 4X games "boring endgame problem" - a short essay about Rapidly Increasing Complexity

I think the late game slog, (as early as after turn 120 in civ6) is mainly a UI problem. There's no auto production, no system to tell where built troops should go, there's also no way to select multiple troops and send them somewhere all at once. I also think there's just too many policy cards...

Some statistics pertaining to relative civilization/victory type power in ~100 AI-only games

Yeah, I wish we had a conquest victory for capturing capitals, and a domination victory for controlling maybe 65% of the land.

    New resources underwhelming?

This is really great. I'd love to see more niche buildings that don't need to be built in every city.

Which part of the game do you like most? (early-, mid-, endgame)?

The first 100 turns of Civ6 are the best of any Civ game. After that it becomes a boring slog with too many clicks and decisions. There needs to be ways to automate your empire like there was in Civ4. Also, managing 20+ trade routes for yields like +3 culture, or +8 gold is completely pointless...

Will there actually be a Civ 7?

Managing a ton of cities in civ5/6 isn't fun but I think it's due to the fact that the UI is so bad. With a decent UI and some options to turn production and city management over to the AI would solve this.

Vox Populi from the point of view of a Civ 4 Player

Yeah I tried out that Enginseer civic mod and enjoyed it. Too bad it's not around anymore. The UI IN Civ4 is definitely uglier, but it's a lot easier and faster than Civ5. If you want to see a terrible UI play Civ6. After turn 150ish it's a nightmare to play. Just non stop clicking, plus the AI...

Vox Populi from the point of view of a Civ 4 Player

I love VP for some things, like war, a challenging AI, monopolies, and speed of play (civ6 is a slog), but I keep going back to Civ 4 and 6. The city building and city strategy just isn't there like it is in 4 and 6. Every city pretty much gets the same buildings. I don't like the idea of...

Are People already drifting away from Civ VI?

I've found Vox Populi fun at first but the more I play it the more I realize how boring the city building is. You pretty much build every building in every city, there just isn't any city specialization like there is in Civ6 and Civ4. That's the one reason I keep returning to Civ6. If we could...

    Mechanics Brainstorm

Diplomacy has improved a ton over the past few years. One thing that'd I'd still like to see is a penalty for trading with a civ's enemy or a civ they're at war with. There was something similar to this in civIV and it lead to AIs grouping together in different diplomatic blocks that felt...

    April 2021 Developer Livestream Discussion

Disappointed, but not surprised that there's no AI or UI improvements, the two things this game needed the most.
