    Well, I've never seen a taxman add more than one gold, but I have noticed that scientists NEVER produce any extra beakers, ever. Scientists appear to do nothing, as far as I can tell.

    I find that when you're capturing the last city, it never is the last. Another one always pops up, and its usually about 20 turns walk away. By the time I get there they have two cities....but they're pathetic, barely guarded, and thats usually the end. Still, I wish they would just go away...

    Are you hitting the size 6 or 12 limits? You must have fresh water or an aqueduct to grow over size 6, and a hospital to grow over size 12. So, you can't add workers at this level.
