Production Queue in 1.61 dumber than previous version

OK, thanks for the reply, at least now I know it is not just me. I disagree otherwise, though. I could not queue University unless Library was buildt or queued before, so there was no breaking the dependency rules (unless a subtle bug allowed a cheat ...). So I see the new functionality as a...

    Tv Out Sparkle 6600???

You just insert the Civ disk in your DVD player on the TV :) Slightly more serious - what can you display on your TV from your computer, ie ignoring CIV for the moment?

which notebook would you recommend for civ4?

A previous thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=3911713 has a few more "testimonials" of laptop use.

Production Queue in 1.61 dumber than previous version

Of course I downloaded and installed the 1.61 patch without any hesitation. And for me it made no difference, in the sense I hadn't come accross any problems with video, gameplay and so on, so nothing broken, nothing fixed ;) but... when queueing up items in the city production screen, it...

I'm playing on the company (ie. dont know what it costs) laptop when travelling. HP-Compaq nx8220, ATI Radeon X600 Intel Pentium "M", 1.86Ghz (sticker on back says Intel Centrino) 2GB RAM 100G disk. works flawlessly wrt. graphics, speed, and smoothness. Now gamebugs, thats another issue...

    Game crashing frequently

I had a good game machine. After ½ years use I got the occasional game crash (was playing Rome TW). So I bought a better new graphic card, as it was the only thing straining it. Then SimCity4 started getting problems .. and later even non games. I bought new memory, motherboard, disk ...

tech support people please help me

AA stands for antialiasing. The Nvida control panel has an extra (nonintuitive?) panel that pops out on the leftside of the normal advanced screen setting panel (I dont have one handy anymore to show a screeenshot with) The AGP aperature is how much of the graphic card can be changed in go...

Wonder movies and technology quotes have disappeared...

I have a similar problem ... I no longer see my units move. QuickMoves is OFF in the option screen (I have tried turning it on - no change, and turn it off) And Ive looked through the civilization.ini file under "My Games" and everything there seems to be OK

How old were you when you first played Civ?

I played it the first year it came out. that was .. ohh .. hmm that was a long time ago. OK, looking at the file date it says 1991... that would make me 36 at that time. Probably right. (Fits with my memory of the 286 I played it on) Ah ye, those where the times, when men where men and pixels...

    Civ 1 Tech Tree

(Years passed. Then one day, an old URL was rediscovered... Lo and behold, yes I remember now.... ) In reply to "penvzila": Yes, as part of the post it is. I cant remember how/if I ever got this into the files area. (Just checked - it isnt there). In reply to "Gameguru". I tried to make as...

    Music in Civ1 ?

I recently played Civ1 again - on a Win95 booted in Dos mode (else I cant get at the large disk) and everything works just like I remember it. No background music except to the Diplomacy, Palace, Marches and other special events. AFAIK the music and sound effects are the same thing - in DOS...

    problem with GOTM9 d/l

Well, you're already home-n-dry, so this is a bit redundant, but I had a similar experience. The SAV file is not the same size as the file you get out of the ZIP file. So I conclude the SAV file is corrupted, or gets corrupted on download (file type problems in browser?), but the ZIP file is fine.
