Oh man that sucks.
All I did was I put my name down at my local EB two weeks before the game was released and when they got it, they gave me a call and I picked it up. :goodjob:
For game purchases, I'd recommend EB if you want to get the games ASAP because even if you order online, they...
I've been in modern ages since the early 1800s. I attribute this to the fact that I took over a lot of cities (and had a lot of my own) and I'm devoting 70% to science (my improvements and wonders help prevent riots).
Well, that and I'm currently playing on chieftan right now.
Yeah, I tend to get surrounded by jungles too and frankly, jungles suck.
My current game is in pangea mode and I like it a lot. I like having my enemy civs right next to mine so I can screw 'em when I need to! Well, heoretically anyway because my "brilliant" plans tend to fail horribly half...
I was initially annoyed with this as well but not anymore. The trick is not to wage war right away in the game. I was able to wage war successfully later in the game by swarming my enemies with swordsmen, later with knights, and later with infantry. The key word is swarm. The game heavily...
I'm pretty new to this board but on other boards, he's someone we'd call a troll, or in other words, someone who says dumb things just to rile up the regular forumers. The best defense against trolls? Ignore 'em! :)
I played Civ 2 and Civ 3. I don't think I was old enough to appreciate the complexities of Civ 1 when it came out so I can't comment on that one. However, from what I can tell, I'd recommend that you just start with #3 because it sports some big changes from Civ 2. I think some of the diehard...
Yes, multiplayer would have been nice but in reality, in order to get a good game going, you'll need some really dedicated playmates.
I'll also admit that I've posted some somewhat negative things regarding screwy combat results but my overall thoughts on the game are nothing but positive...
LOL WankersRevenge. :)
I myself have never gotten a hero and I've actually fought a lot. It's probably because my elite units die really often before they really see any action.
Well I took the Greek's capital and I think it severely affected their Civ because they've been playing catch-up for the rest of the game. I think it has more to do with the placement of their cities though because beforehand, their capital was literally the heart of their nation and all the...
Yeah I don't know how its calculated either. Right now, my culture is absolutely whoopin the cultures of other civs but I don't overthrow cities that much. It seems somewhat random... maybe each turn there's a small chance a city will be overthrown or something like that.
I think you can irrigate more freely after the discovery of electricity. Until then, you gotta find those rivers. :)
Oh yeah I found the game to be much harder than the Civ 2 also. Luckily, I'm getting the hang of things now so that's cool.
