IndieRevolution Gameplay Mechanics- inc. Advisor System, Distribution, Immigration

Great ideas for a mod -- I've been looking specifically for food distribution for ages.

    Mod Component Requests Thread

I would love a mod that makes food more share-able between cities. I don't really care what mechanic this is through -- an early game corporation, special trade routes, whatever. It might be fine if food pools for your entire empire they way commerce does. I just think this would be more...

    Dealing with revolution.

Wow, I just tried this mod for the first time, on Monarch (as a long time Civ4 BTS monarch player). What a terrible experience. I had 3 cities at about 1000BC, which is a very slow development, and both of my new cities kept revolting regardless of ludicrous size garrisons, the most stable...

    Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Awesome, thank you, but where the heck is this documented? and are there other equally arcane mechanisms anywhere in the game?

    Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Tried to search for the answer but couldn't find it... Sometimes buildings have more culture than they're supposed to, especially older buildings. An obelisk might produce 2 culture per turn, even after it's obsolete. What mechanism controls this? How exactly does it work?

    Civ3 recorded game utility?

I know there are some "replay" utilities in existance which will let you review the high-level progress of a game, similar to what you see after you finish a game. But are there utilities that let you see the full details of a game as if you were watching over someone's shoulder while they...

    Civ4 Interview @ Strategy Informer

Are people really content with this? It seems to be MORE ambiguous, to me, since people will have to estimate how good the unit bonuses are instead of just comparing numbers. 6 cav attack is greater than 5 musketeer defense seems easier than strength 4 cav versus strength 4 musketeer... now...

    We need artillery

Never had him suggest that. Is this linked to the default city production item that you have to switch from every time your city builds something (unless you instruct the governer otherwise). Because after flight is discovered, they always want to build flak/mobile sam. But I've never had the...

    AI doesn't fight each other

Yeah, this is one of the things that actually gets easier at higher difficulty levels. Thankfully so, because war keeps them from trading techs with eachother like crazy. They always end up with exactly the same techs somehow or another, regardless.

    Help with city razing

I can sell buildings in captured cities like crazy in C3C, not sure why you can't djpjnr

Curious: time spent on opening position?

I try to suck it up and play, unless the position is really bad (which it is sometimes). Big exception being OCC, or 2CC. For OCC I'm very picky. I will reload until I get a river near the coast. Because it's very important to get the colussus and to grow past 6 before construction. (and...

    AI builds worthless cities

couldn't building these small cities make your good cities more corrupt?

    Republic vs. Democracy?

Check your unit support costs (F3). If you have 60 units out of 70 allowed, it might be worth 60gpt to stay in republic. If you have 100 units out of 70 allowed, it would still be cheaper to stay in republic. If you have 150 units out of 70 allowed, then you're paying 160 gpt for your extra...

AI "insulted" by better peace deal

That's no so much a "fix" as a "dirty hack" It's ridiculous to offer someone their old city and they would "never accept" giving you 1 gold for it. It's likewise ridiculous that they value their own stupid 1 pop city on a tundra island more than YOUR ENTIRE EMPIRE. "fix" would be to...
