    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

A few familiar faces, in a vague sense, and a few more names that engender some degree of recognitions. Given that my most active years here were 2001-2003, I would surmise that most of that era's crowd is gone, like tears in virtual rain.

What are you watching on YouTube now ?

The last thing I had a watch of this afternoon was that tremendous product of Ugandan cinema, 'Who Killed Captain Alex'.

It has been a while, so I thought I might drop by and visit old haunts.

I’m back for my yearly visit. I see a few familiar names including Curt.

Will Smith acts like a crazy person and slaps the Oscars presenter

Firstly, the whole sordid affair demonstrates how low modern Hollywood entertainment has fallen in tone, substance and content. Secondly, it was bizarre to see Smith engage in a childish slap; it didn’t matter how much he looked like a 5 year old throwing a tantrum, he was still breaking the...

    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

I looked through some of the old names and they bought back some memories, but 20 years is a while for internet conversations, so I can only recall a few snippets. CFC OT was a nice landing place in my initial forays into the Internet, but probably became a bit too…consuming…for want of a...

    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

To see such familiar faces around is enough to extend my stay from the usual fleeting one. It must be a function of my dotage.

What Book Are You Reading XV - The Pile Keeps Growing!

I’ve kind of lost the ability to read at length as I once relished, so have been trying to get through The Eye of the World; over 10 months, I’ve done maybe 200 pages, which I would once do in half an hour.

What TV Shows Are You Watching? Series VI - Programmes of Power

1975’s Quiller. Good in some ways, cheap in others, but with a very 1970s theme tune.

Kyriakos seems familiar enough; few names do.

    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

I can’t remember much from back then that was significant, sadly. A different world, both literally and figuratively.

    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

My comment was in the context of tertiary studies at this time/in these current economic climes. That entails perhaps a greater financial and time stake than computer games alone. I’d go so far as to say I wouldn’t recommend any course of study that doesn’t have a viable pathway to return on...

    Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

I’d recommend against anything that does not deliver a tangible financial result at the end. Formal logic has no truck in an informal and illogical world.
