Conversations: Who's here, Who's not.

Kyriakos seems familiar enough; few names do.

Cthulhu fhtagn! old names keep returning. Any day now, old V's going to show up and explain to us about the Oregon Trail game again.
It's Off Topic my friend. Keep up.
Well, yes! In Off-topic we talk about videogames and in videogame forums we post about anything under the sun. Has your experience as a moderator taught you nothing?

It has taught me the secret admin handshake that sets a poster's profile to subtract 1 pc every time they make a new post. :p

To see such familiar faces around is enough to extend my stay from the usual fleeting one. It must be a function of my dotage.

To not to overly sycophantic, but I certainly recall you with significance from back in the day.

I looked through some of the old names and they bought back some memories, but 20 years is a while for internet conversations, so I can only recall a few snippets.

CFC OT was a nice landing place in my initial forays into the Internet, but probably became a bit too…consuming…for want of a better word. If I had my time again, I’d spend more time in real life and less time on Internet forums in that 2001-2003 period.

Heretical thoughts, but I suppose there should come some wisdom from age and near death experience.

Aw shucks.

Hope you feel better soon.

Spoiler I'm sure you'll do your part :

The glory and spam of the old days can never be repeated.
Indeed. This is the glory and spam of the new days, even if 32k modems and their distinctive sound are no longer heard.

Jeezum, feels like Old Home Week around here lately. Nice to see y'all again!

At the time, my username was Varwnos. Not sure if I switched it to Kyriakos while you still were here (I think I did).
You switched sometime in the vicinity of 2010. I remember that because you used to post regularly in A&E when it was first created, and it was about a week or two after I'd finally memorized how to spell your name when you changed it.

Once upon a time in 2006 on another gaming forum, one of the admins did something similar to that to a couple of us. In my friend's case it was an experiment with post count. In my case it was subtracting over 15,000 reputation points (certain forum features and functions were reputation score-dependent, which meant there were some parts of the forum I could no longer access).

The difference between these situations is that we know you're joking, and back then this jerk made it personal. He wasn't joking, and after enough people spoke up about his abuse of authority, he was removed from staff.
