    Illicit Resources (i.e. opium)

Slavery better than opium? Whoa, that's something. If anyone is offended by opium or just as well any other choice in some random mod, then don't play the bloody mod, or alter it yourself to better suit your tastes. If all the ideas brainstormed on these forums should have to pass...

    Question: Combining mods

Someone around here (I forget the nickname, but I remember he was Finnish as well) was in the process of making a merging utility for Civ IV mods.

    "Religious Victory"

What a brilliant idea! I expect to see some savory, flavory mods built around this principle. Oh, the joys of crusading and inquisition...

    Illicit Resources (i.e. opium)

Oh good grief. I like the general idea of illicit resources. They could be a double-edged knife, giving bonuses under certain civics and circumstances while causing negative effects under others. They could also be a prime reason for diplomatic crises and wars as well.

    American Civ disappeared

I seriously suspect Blue Marble mod has nothing to do with this, as you seem to be the only one so far experiencing such behaviour. At least for me, the Blue Marble mod works wonderfully. Also, the mod only modifies some terrain-related art files, it doesn't touch anything...

And behold! Civ4 came out! With the same problem as last game. (Civ3)

I suppose all this has been said already, but here goes anyway: Your logic is flawed. Each unique unit has its individual heyday. Some are early, some midgame and some awfully late. What's common between all the military units, unique and vanilla, is that each of them has a limited window...

    Beauty

Neither do I. Do these people really think that one tank unit on screen is supposed to represent a single tank? And that a city with 500,000 inhabitants can be protected by, say, nine armed soldiers?

    Highest Level Win

Just ended my first attempt on Prince with a domination victory merely a few years before the game ended. Aztec, Tiny, Quick, 7 AIs. Haven't tried Monarch yet.

The UN project: 191 civ on a XXL Earth map

Eastern Bloc has plenty o' space when compared to e.g. the poor Polynesian states, having to settle on islands the size of the stamps they generate most of their income with... How about simplifying and dividing each continent to some subgroups? The mod could include 16-18 unions, coalitions...

    Modifying unit domains

I've noticed that each unit is fixed to a domain -- land, sea, air or immobile -- and the domain is what sets the basic rules for unit movement. A land unit can't enter water squares, a sea unit can't enter land squares, an air unit has a fixed operation distance and rebasing capability, and the...

    Question

With the keyboard. Open the XML file into any generic text editor and go wild. I believe there's a tutorial around here somewhere. Basically, you make a new subfolder for each mod into the Civilization IV/Mods/ folder, let's say you call the first one MyMod. This is where you'll mirror any...

    terrain value changing possible?

Of course it is. Assets/XML/Terrain/CIV4TerrainInfos.xml has an entry for each basic terrain type. The three iYield tags contain the resource values, the order being food, production and gold. I suppose adding completely new yields to terrains could also be done, but it would require...

    Thanks a lot modders!

But instead of, say, asking for assistance to solve your problems, you choose to take it all out on the modders? The modificational capabilities of Civilization IV are actually much more than mere features. The whole game framework is designed on the principle of being open, flexible and...

    I think Isabella....

There was alright. I just found my way back to the forums after over a year of hiatus, and had an immediate déjà vu experience.
