No other way to declare war on capitulated foe?

It would be nice to get rid of that pesky vassal on your continent. That way I could have avoided the every third turn of "The citizens of Podunkville want to rejoin their nation of whatever. Will you let them?" It has been driving me crazy

    winning the game

You need to expand your civilization much more slowly. Each new city costs more as a whole civilization and soon you are operating at 50% science and falling behind. Read a couple of the early strategy guides to help give you guidance.

What did you do before Civ?

I am 37 and started playing video games with pong. Then I loved Atari Combat and played all of its titles- including Pitfall, River Raid, Warlords. I had a Commodore 64 and loved games like MULE, Blue Max, Seven Cities, Pirates. I then had a PC (without a hard drive) and started playing Civ...

[PETITION] Bring the flavor back to Civilization!

I would like the flavor of the civilizations. That there are greater differences in how each civ manages its empire. That the differences are more than a war like attitude or not.

    It's too crowded

you do realize that building cottages does not help with overcrowding? The population does not get "farmed out"

    oddity

I have heard of this issue only in the context of an illegal copy or demo game. If it is a legit copy, then I have not heard of the problem. Sorry to not be a help, but I saw 16 looks and no replies so I thought I would be helpful

America Freedom to Fascism on Google Video

Congress delegated the "execution" of that power to the Federal Reserve System. It evolved as follows: In 1863, Congress passed the first National Bank Act providing for a supervised system of "National Banks." The Act setup operational standards for the banks, established minimum amounts of...

A reminder to go and vote

Just curious in a public way. Do you want direct democracy for all governmental actions or are you Don Quixotic? Do you have a better system to which we can evolve?

A reminder to go and vote

I guess I am a bit odd. I do not care if someone votes or not. I would prefer that people vote if they are informed of the issues and candidates and vote according to their analysis of the issues. People who vote blindly (and often) or under payment from one party or the other scare me. Just...

    Turner's News of the Weird

Here is some odd behavior from a burgler.... MUNCIE -- A burglar stole a television set from a Muncie man's living room -- and left a broken television in its place, the victim reported to police. Duane Miller, 624 W. Powers St., reported the burglary around 10 p.m. Thursday after he returned...

    Free Speech

People confuse Freedom of Speech to the Right to be Listened to and Heard. A group has a right to put out whatever they want, as long as it is not libelous or creates an immediate danger. Anyone has a right to not listen to the speech. That would include organizing boycotts or...

    Ask a gun nut

Semi-automatic- the trigger must be pulled each time the bolt and firing pin deploy. Automatic- continually depress to continually actuate the bolt and firing pin. Assault rifle is the sexy media name for the type of stock and embellishments, normally lighter and more easily deployed...

    Of course, Kerry is right...

So how are you measuring intelligence and academic achievement then? By any measure they stack up well against their civilian peer group. Don't besmirch the only statistic that is easily tracked because you want to insist that being in the military is defacto proof for a lack of intelligence....
