Thanks for the reply. Where I'm unclear is the "juggling" of tiles, as you described it and why finishing that build on the same turn that the city is going to grow is important .
I'm reading Sisiutil's strategy guide and came across this statement regarding the first training / build .
"Many players prefer to build a Warrior first , timing the build by changing the tile worked by the capital's first citizen so that the unit is finished on the same turn that the city...
When my Great Musician performs in the other Civ for that Tourism boost, should I see an increase in my Tourism level (the number next to the suitcase)? Is there a screen that displays Tourism and Culture for each other culture relative to my Civ?
Here's my confusion:
From the article (thanks for that, BTW):
Great Musician Concert Tour - The 'Culture Bomb' of Civ5 - Great Musicians do not only create Great Works of Music, but can also go on a Concert Tour and this is a great use of them to break through a Civ with whom your Influence...
Can someone explain tourism to me? I thought I understood, but may not.
I had a Great Musician so I sent him to perform in another Civ. That grants a large amount of tourism to that civ and some to others as well. (Did I get that right?)
Question: How does that help me?
Never mind. I clicked on it and it was actually referring to an adjacent tile, which was a mountain. Up till now, I thought we couldn't buy mountains. Sorry for the non-issue.
What does it mean when I select a city, select to Buy a tile, and the map shows a price for a tile I already own? If it matters, there's a silver mine on it that I built.
It just dawned on me that I could click on it and then if something terrible happens like losing 180 gold for nothing I...
I just played a game where there were so many Luxury and Strategic resources in my vicinity, I built 2 more cities than I originally planned, and went to war when Denmark founded a city where I was going to.
First of all, I just won my first game on standard difficulty. It was a science victory, so I got to see the SS launch and didn't have to play all the way to 2050. Now the questions...
1. If I open a trade route to one of my cities and send them production, does that speed up whatever...
Is that 200 gold over and above what it takes to make them an ally? This particular CS is making me crazy because Carthaginian spies keep rigging elections and I have to give a bunch of gold to get them back as my ally. Then it happens again. I put a spy there, but they fail at rigging the...
When I click on the city state, I get an info panel that has their resources. It says Uranium (3). Does that mean they've mined it or they just have the tile?
How does one get a resource from a City State Allie?
I'm in current need of uranium. One of my long time CS allies has plenty of it. I can't negotiate a trade, so how do get it to turn lose of it?
Thanks.
