    I agree with Remconius on the fact that praetorians sweep out everything in the classical era. You'd better get ready for early warmongering... So I consider getting iron working very quickly, maybe say agriculture ( to farm wheat), bronze working, iron working... As for the starting position...

    GNP understanding needed!

    GNP stands for "gross national products". It is a real macro-economic statistic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_national_product this should give you a view of what it is for, but I have no idea how it is implemented in the game.

    having stone or marble is absolutely awesome in wonder building. stone+quarry in city radius give you 3 hammers (maybe 4, i can't remember).     I agree, it sucks... Personally, I've ordered it in the UK to have an english version (I prefer Civ humor in original version ;-) ). I would be a bit disappointed if the poster was in spanish/german or even french. ok, lesson 1: cuivre = copper btw, happy civing!! :D
