I would love to get the main theme from Civ I (both original and the one on the website) as Mp3s... same with the one diplomatic style music you hear when you look at the civs.... ahhh memories.

Well, these are in WAVE format, but I have:
  • Opening music for Civ I
  • Diplomacy music for the Civ I civs
  • The nuclear sound (can't forget that  )

Strange, your version of the opening music for Civ I is a bit different than the one I can remember. But, then again, I played the music on internal PC speakers back then...

In the UN screenshot (on the "media" page), I think the flags in front of the building are the flags of the civilizations in the game.
Just look at the flag on the far left, near the edge. That must be the french flag, right? And I think the flag number 4 from the left is the persian flag (just compare it to the screenshot of the persian units on the "civilizations" page.)

The Frederick diplo theme bings back good memories from Civ1 :)

Crud. The link that's supposed to take you to the Developer's Blog for Modding, goes to the Blog on Religion instead. So there's no detailed information of any kind about doing mods yet! *sigh*

I love the music, especially as many of the tunes remind me not only of earlier Civilizations, but also Colonization and Pirates! Nice way of making long-time fans of Sid's games nostlagic. :goodjob:

Some missing content, plus the developers blogs has the link to modding blog going to the religion blog instead. But the video and audio candy is otherwise very polished. The outlook for the game is looking better and better as we get closer to the release.

And since Flash is required, I can't see it at work and will have to wait until I get home to see it.

<sigh>

The website alone crashed my computer. This doesn't bode well for it being able to run the game...
Try an up-to-date browser (like IE 6.0 or Firefox 1.0.7) and download the Flash plugin if required. You might have a problem if you're using a 64-bit browser, because Macromedia didn't release a 64-bit version of Flash yet.

Nah. My sysadmin wouldn't like me any more if I downloaded Flash...

...and while this is not the worst thing that might happen to me, it comes close.

So I guess I will just have to wait until I get home... ;)

(But seriously, why does the site have to use Flash?)

for my first post, i'd like to say hi to all CFC community. May it live and grow.

Did you notice that official site had forum links, and that they go directly to CFC forums?
Great increase of traffic foreseen...

That sucks, if it really means they cut some of the leaders...(especially some of the better ones). Victoria making the cut over Elizabeth has to be the single most hare-brained decision among those.

Victoria was never queen of England that title was abolished in 1604 when James the 1st became by the Grace of God King of Great Britain Ireland and France. All other monarchs since have been British except possibly Charles the II who was crowned King of Scots while England was a sort of Repubic thing.

I am therefore a subject of the MAgesty Queen Elizabeth the 1st. Check out Scottish pilar boxes.

Welcome to CFC! :band:

You might be right about the increase in traffic. Although I do expect the official site to link more civ forums (but Civfanatics is the best one  )
