I'm in work so I do not have installed yet!
I don't know yet about the comptibility between version of civ IV.
Reading the forum seems to light up that CIV IV can be installed in different languages.

Virgin Defence has it too, hidden behind other games (tricky).
Ask the vendors, they'll show you. I saw a lot of copies too.
Well, if it's out normally, what do the online shops wait for? Do Fnac and Virgin sell without permission and before the date determined or what?

There have been quite some stores quoted here. Try Fnac Chatelet, Virgin Champs Elysées et Defense, Game Store Defense, and I'm sure there are many more. He just has to ask as it's hidden sometimes, but the vendors don't refuse (usualy).
