Is the HD3870x2 memory DDR2 or DDR3? because if it's DDR2 you can stop wondering why you have streaming problems. I have a EVGA 9800GT+ which is about as powerful as your card and I'm also having texture streaming problems. Civ 5 is a very demanding and poorly optimized game. End of the story...

Don't really have new info here but since installing the 1.0.0.20 patch my save games load quite a bit slower. Processing time after each turn is still very slow even with my CPU (i7 940). Mind you that is playing in a Huge World Map with max AI players. i7 940 6GB tri-channel DDR3 EVGA 9800GT...

This happen very often when games are designed for PC and consoles at the same time(Deus Ex 2 is a great example). Frankly I'm not really surprised with Pirates!... But Civ IV is gonna be PC only so that means less things to worry about.

I was wondering if the game would run well with a system under the minimum requirememnts(but with a better video card)... I guess I'll buy the Xbox version.

Another question: If I buy Conquests, do I need to buy Play The World too? I don't play online games so Play The World doesn't seem really necessary for me... Unless it has other features not uncluded in Conquests.

Thank you, now it's alot less confusing(no offense mastertyguy). That's one thing I used to do: build as much stuff on the terrain and ending up a little overwhelmed and wondering why the population in my other cities were complaining... Sometimes I even forgot to make roads from town to town...
