Moments that made you smile :)

So I havent played Civ III in a while and decided to pick up the game again. I decided to try it at Reagent level to get back into the game, and went right into working towards the philosophy sling shot. At last I get philosophy, and lo and behold, i am the first, and sling shot straight to...

Need some help on a few points

I've been doing fairly well with Civ after picking it up after a few months, but there are a few bits of strategy I'm in need of advice on. 1.) The Forbidden Palace:.....Where the hell should I build it? I always delay building it until I find that "perfect spot" but then I get to the end...

    What's your biggest blunder?

Putting a musket man into a Sipahi army? Trading my furs...when I only had one supply? Ya know when you conqueor a lot of railed territory, and sometimes the culture barriers are such that there is an open rail route right to the heart of your new zone of control? Undefended cities seem...

Intentionally slowing down the tech pace

I like playing as the ottomans, in particular because of the Sipahi. It's one of the most powerful UU's, and in most every game I play I gain my winning advantage by having a cavalry rush, and so having a suped up cavalry is perfect. As a result, I've developed a strategy that extends the...

    Lux's for peace?

unfortunately that doesn't help. My most recent example was against the aztecs. I had several deals with the to get some luxuries to keep my people happy, but I got tired of paying out the nose for it and decided to self supply with their land. After I conquered half their empire, I had all...

    Lux's for peace?

I've noticed something very irritating of late. When ever I go to war with a civ, come time for the peace treaty they are almost always running low on gold and gpt, and since I embrace the rogue state theory, they rarely have a tech. No problem though, they have plenty of lux's and resources...

    Comfort Zone & Paycheques

Ottomans or Iroqouis. My best (and most enjoyable) wars are fought in the age of cavalry, so having Sipahi make it so much sweeter. Do the Iroqouis even need an explanaition.

    2 x Sci Leaders

Since Ottomans are scientific, the chances of this are 1 in 1600.

1000 Bad Habits in Civ 3

    201. Landing your D-Day Invasion force on a plain tile when a mountain tile was right next to it. 202. Trading an up to date resource to the country you plan on going to war with soon.

An Idea That I Thought Of

I <3 spam But seriously, what you have described is more or less the Alway War variant. This has been done many times, particularly in the Succession Game section.

    Making slaves

I have a slightly related question, is there a way to control which citizen becomes a worker? I usually end up with 1 enemy nationalty citizen and all my citizens, and no matter how hard I try I just can get rid of the one.

    Best Form of Government

I've never understoond why Feudalism is god for culture wins. Poprushing is usually looked down upon, so why in this case is it being endorsed?
