Description: Developed and manufactured by the insectoid-like race the Colicoids, the droideka is a versatile heavy infantry unit that is programmed to destroy anything that gets in its path. The droideka is able to transform into a wheel like state for faster mobility and easy storage. When unfolded these insectoid-like droids stand on a tripod of legs to keep balance and even have some limited movement in this mode.
Droidekas are armed with 2 powerful twin blasters in each arm and a personal ray shield generator which makes them especially difficult to defeat. These shields are able to deflect almost all light blasters and small arms fire; however, they can be penetrated easily by heavier weaponry. When the droideka fires its weapons, the shields briefly turn off for a second, this may be because the droideka is unable to fire its blasters through the ray shield or that it's power supply cannot sustain shields when firing weapons. Although they are proven to be deadly, droidekas were only used sparingly due to their high cost.
